Prevpac (amoxicillin / clarithromycin / lansoprazole) for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I took this pack and after the 2nd day on the meds I felt I was gonna die, I tried to relax myself and have faith it would work. After the 4th day, I started feeling better and everyday after that. I finished the meds and now I am 2 weeks since finished the pack. I have not felt this great in years. I urge you all that are taking it or consider taking it to let the meds run its course. Yes there is side effects but as for my part, I felt those side effects out weigh the pain I had been having for years. Now I can eat, whatever I want and I have not gotten sick. By the way, doctors here in the USA could not diagnose this infection, I live next to the border of Mexico, so I sought treatment there and within one day, he gave the results and treatment. Its the same treatment from Mexico and the USA."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Day 14, and I'm done with the protocol!!!!! At 62 yrs old, I never experienced anything that even resembled acid reflux, which brought me to my knees during the 3-4 am for several days. For temporary survival, I was able to block the symptoms with Zantac. Then my endoscopy results showed positive for h pylori. So even with the consumer reviews of serious side effects with two weeks of antibiotics, I had no choice with such horrific acid reflux. Fortunately, I was extremely blessed during the 14 days of antibiotic treatment with only periodic bad taste and dryness in my mouth. I was careful in daily diet to avoid any greasy/fatty/spicy foods and always to complete a full meal before ingesting the antibiotics and the lansoprazole twice a day. I suppose it's hardly worth mentioning that I never drank any alcohol or took other prescription drugs during the 14 days."

Prevpac (amoxicillin / clarithromycin / lansoprazole) for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I am halfway through treatment for HPilori bacterial infection. I haven't experience side effects like some have mentioned because I was told to take PROBIOTICS while on this treatment to put good bacteria back in my system. I had previously had treatment for another problem and took antibiotics but not a probiotic and had awful side effects that took time to clear up. This time when I took probiotics with the BP Pac the results were excellent! I only have the acid taste in my mouth and feel a little tired but otherwise no other side effects. Wonderful!! The probiotic should be taken between the two doses and not with the dose."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "The metallic taste is there for me. I'm just scared because I did not have any pylori symptoms when I was diagnosed with it and I was given pylotrip for 14 days, I just hope the medication won't kill me"

Prevpac (amoxicillin / clarithromycin / lansoprazole) for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I was VERY hesitant to take the meds due to the horror stories and I'm glad I actually went through with it!!! Everyone reacts different to the meds and it's not as bad as I read it would be!!! I'm currently on Day 10 of 14(Almost there...Kudos to me!!!) 1st couple days I felt nothing...By Day 4 I notice the dark stool, and I'm still having dark stools...By Day 8 I'm a bit nauseous at times and would feel better after eating. So far, yesterday which was Day 9 for me I felt the worst of it...I was nauseous all day, light headache, frequently BMs, and exhausted. Today Day 10, a little nauseous earlier around breakfast and a little bit now...but better after eating!!! Also, my sense of smell seem to have heightened which also makes me nauseous...But overall, it's definitely not as bad as I read or as bad as the doctor told me it would be...But honestly I can't wait to finish!!!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I was diagnosed with H pylori and I’ve been sick for about a month now. Monday is my last day of my treatment And the first week I felt horrible I had really bad nausea and the metallic taste in my mouth. My side effects had gone away for like 2 days and now they’re back is that normal?"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I'm having almost 90% of the side effects, nausea, headache, diarrhea, fatigue, loss of appetite, my depression is amplified and do not get me started on the bitter taste in my mouth. I am dying here and have 6 more days to go. I am missing work and have been in bed almost all day except when eating other than thatI just don't want to move. Hope this treatment works because I cannot take anymore of this."

Prevpac (amoxicillin / clarithromycin / lansoprazole) for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I've had the h.pylori infection for at least a few years but this year it got to a point where I couldn't handle it. I had severe gastritis and couldn't eat anymore. Some days the food I ate over the course of a day wouldn't even add up to one meal. The treatment was not pleasant, but tolerable. It's a lot of pills to take in one day and I felt exhausted some of the days. A few weeks after I finished the treatment, I noticed that I no longer have immediate pain and nausea when I try to eat. Now (4 months later) I can almost eat a full meal and feel ok. It took a while to recover but it was very much worth it."

Prevpac (amoxicillin / clarithromycin / lansoprazole) for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Two years ago I began having symptoms of H Pylori. The first episode lasted about 20 minutes. It was a terrible pain in my upper abdomen. The pain was more intense than gas pain, but I wrote it off as such. After that, every 3 months or so I would be woken up by the same terrible pain and I always knew I wasn't getting sleep that night as it would last 4-6 hours and I could not get comfortable. I had one of those night episodes, but the pain wouldn't go away. It wasn't constantly the same degree of pain, some times it would be a churning pain, a bloated pain, or a general soreness. After a week, went to the doctor and was tested positive for H Pylori. There was a huge difference/day 3 and the pain was just about gone/day 4. Amazing"

Prevpac (amoxicillin / clarithromycin / lansoprazole) for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Today is my 5th day of taking the medication. I too was worried about taking it after reading some horror stories regarding the side effects. I am happy to say that so far the only side effects that I've experienced is a little tiredness the first day and the bad taste in my mouth which I've noticed that I've experience more in the middle of the night upon waking for various reasons. All in all I am pleased, other then the fact that I have to take them for 14 days. Good luck to all!"

Prevpac (amoxicillin / clarithromycin / lansoprazole) for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I've had some stomach pain but nothing like before I was diagnosed. The taste is getting really bad in my mouth - I'm on day 7 but I just keep drinking water to get rid of the taste..it's like zingy, metal taste, raw like I burned my tongue of coffee. I do have cramping about an hour after taking but then it goes away. I have more bowel movements but I assume it's just the meds working. It's almost over. Hopefully I never have to do anything like this again. I'm no longer tired, groggy, no energy - I feel fantastic - I had no idea it was the infection making me so ill."

Prevpac (amoxicillin / clarithromycin / lansoprazole) for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I was worried going into this medicine after reading so many negative things. I took it for 14 days and had minimal side effects. I feel like it did what it was intended to do, and am grateful my pain has ceased and am feeling human again. The only side effects I had were a headache one day...drowsiness...bad taste in the mouth a couple times, and a pretty active female yeast infection. All of which are better now. Good luck, to those who need it . Wishing you good results too."

Prevpac (amoxicillin / clarithromycin / lansoprazole) for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I was diagnosed with H.pylori a year ago and finally did Prevpac. I've had terrible diarrhea since starting - took my last dose today. Generally, my stomach was always churning and the diarrhea was consistent while on the treatment. No other side effects, energy levels were fine and was able to work out daily. Hopefully H.pylori is gone."

Prevpac (amoxicillin / clarithromycin / lansoprazole) for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I've completed my 7-day Prevpac treatment. I did have side-effects after the first day of starting the course of medicines. I experienced raced heartbeat, slight breathlessness and diarrhea, only for a few hours though. But I was absolutely unable to sleep the first night of taking the pills because of the bitter taste in the mouth when I lay down. The bitterness was the one thing that bothered me all the 7 days. Thank goodness that the course is over now. However, the major symptom that I had was severe bloating (firm near the upper abdomen) and it is still there with no visible changes. My GP says it will take time to see results, say at least 2 months. Waiting for the 2 months to fly ASAP, Fingers-crossed!"

The drugs put a TERRIBLE taste in my mouth. Even during sleep, the bad taste wakes me up and makes me want to gag. I've been eating lemon drops and candy to help keep it washed back down."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "My doctor prescribed lansoprazole-amoxicillin-clarithromycin to treat the helicobacter pylori infection. On the 9th day I started to have rashes on my arms and back and it has now spread throughout my torso and legs. I am taking Benadryl to control the effect of the rashes( moderate itchiness). Does anyone have the same experience of what I am going through? I am now on day 10 of 14"

Prevpac (amoxicillin / clarithromycin / lansoprazole) for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Don't be afraid to take the PrevPac for h. pylori. I have suffered for a month with pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. I'm on only day 3 of a 14 day treatment and I am almost back to my old self again! Many people complain about the side effects, but all I have experienced is a slight metal taste in my mouth at times - so worth being almost well."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "This is day 4 of my treatment and let me say day one will be the hardest in my opinion. My mouth started tasting weird and my heart was beating so fast and I was just sitting down and I just wanted to let you know that it's normal. Something that helped a lot is to take the little pill and then in 15 minutes eat any kind of yogurt (I like the oreo one and the flip) and then after another 15 minutes take the other pills it helps a lot with the taste and stomach pain. Now that I'm used to it I just need to remember to take it"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "The bitter taste in my mouth! Omg! I've taken Chinese herbal medicine in the past, and those are known to be bitter. But THIS is a different ball game! I'm only on my 2nd day and I've been eating all sorts of sweets to try to keep the bitterness at bay. The bitterness is most potent around 2-3 hrs after taking a dose, & lasts for hours & hours. Finally, when the bitterness is pretty much gone, it's time for the next dose!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I tested positive for H pylori with a value of 2.07. Everyones comment were so helpful. I was searching for side effect information on this treatment medicines and I didn't find anything on it. I read your comments and I'm glad to find that the symptom in my mouth is common. I' m on day 2/14 day treatment and I'm experiencing a nasty bitter (Medicine) taste in my mouth!! It's horrible and never goes away. I literally sleep with a mint gum in my mouth because I just can't stand it. I was about to hit the dentist, thought it had something to do with a mouth infection."

Prevpac (amoxicillin / clarithromycin / lansoprazole) for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Don't be scared of prevpac, the first couple of days are kind of rough due to the initially getting rid of the a large amount of h pylori but you immediately start feeling better when taking with a probiotic. Prevpac is candy compared to some of the other fluroquinolones like cipro or levofloxacin. Trust me you do not want them. I'm on day 13 or 14 and I feel like a million dollars."

It seems to come and go. I am going to call my doctor to see if this is a common side effect and if it means something bad is happening due to the meds. Whatever the doctor says I will report back here."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I am on both clarithromycin and amoxicillin for 14 days for H pylori. I am almost half way through. I had a horrible taste in my mouth every morning waking up and it would last to about lunch time. The taste to me is like when a pill dissolves on your tongue before you can swallow it quick enough. Mouth wash doesn’t help, brushing doesn’t help, its in your saliva. The meds can block zinc absorption I read so I started taking zinc the fourth day. Still woke up with the taste the next morning. Last night, the fifth night I took two 50mg zinc. Taste was much better this morning and gone pretty soon after waking up. You don’t want to take the zinc until at least two hours after the antibiotics I read to avoid affecting the effectiveness of the antibiotics. Oh, I also kept an applesauce pouch next to my bed so when I woke up in the night I could get the taste out of my mouth and go back to sleep. Good luck"

Prevpac (amoxicillin / clarithromycin / lansoprazole) for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I am so happy I found this site!!! I am on day 10 of the hpac (amoxicillin/clarithromycin/lansoprazole). The first few days were great. Felt better than I have in the last year. But day 8 I started to feel ill. Terrible terrible nausea, stomach ache, headache, loss of energy, can’t sleep, hate food, metallic taste... Thought of stopping treatment but after reading other posts will take some probiotics, yogurt, gravoll and hope it gets me through the next 4 days. I found if you need a quick relief from the stomach pain and nausea for an hour, Gaviscon will help. Hope this works. Could not go through another course of treatment."

I have extreme insomnia, very bad taste in my mouth all the time no matter what I do, have stomach pain and gas I can't seem to pass, did have diarrhea on first couple days of treatment but now constipated. I want to feel better soon."
