It's kind of interesting to me that Ultram /Tramadol is listed in the literature as an opiate pain reliever with absolutely no opiate in the medication at all. I have tried Ultram with the doc telling me it was different than tramadol ... well as compared to even 5mg of oxycodone, did not even begin to touch a corner of my pain. But that is just my experience. I no more could get addicted to that stuff than flap my arms and fly to the moon. I even got off of oxys w/o any problems at all. I suppose some people feel pain at differing levels. Having kids was mo problem for me and I was not one of those screamer and Wailers in the labor area. Geez, had a broken arm for 8 months until I figured it had healed as much as it was gonna, now to the doc. Pain is part of life. Deal with it!
I was on 8 Trams a day & 6 Rufen for my Arthritis, at the time I was in rehab my own doctor told them to give me them anyway I got clean and stop the trams and Never went threw one withdrawal, sorry maybe i got some sweats but that might have been the H & Meth coming out my system, this is just my story but I've never felt anything when I stopped taking them, Im sure your Doctor will confirm this I was on Trams for Months & Months, when I came off meth & H in the detox centre I was even taking my own supply as they cut me to down in the detox centre to 4 My Arthritis is really bad & with the meth coming out my system it made it 10 times worse, then I stopped the Trams All together and again i felt Nothing, As I stated this is just my story everyone is different .. Good Luck
You CAN take it together but trams are very addicting and just as difficult to ween off of. If you suddenly stop taking trams, you run the risk of seizures. If this was prescribed as a breakthrough pain med, please remind your doctor tramadol is an opioid and is addicting. I will copy and paste the information for you in a few mins. However, methadone (when at the right dosage) rarely if ever needs a bt medication. There ARE people who are on additional pain meds but usually not tramadol.
Best wishes,
chris
"Ultracet is used to treat moderate to severe pain for a period of five days or less. It contains two pain-relieving agents. Tramadol, known technically as an opioid analgesic, is a narcotic pain reliever. Acetaminophen is the active ingredient in the over-the-counter pain remedy Tylenol"
