I have been on the shot since December. At least once a month, I get these egg burps(Sulpher), horrible gas and diahrerea that last for 3 days. The 3 days of hell happens the next day after my shot.. Does anyone else have this? Doctor checked my gall bladder is fine.

Hello yes I use to have those side effects. But I noticed it was when I ate too much. But I take my medicine at night before I am going to sleep. Now I dont get the cramps. As far as diarrhea and the gas I would get them a day before I take my next dose.
Yes I have same side effect that lasts 2-3 days month went to lower dose and it is less. Some months not as bad as others. Staying hydrated seems to help some. But only medication that helped to get my blood sugar under control
Best thing that helped me was baking soda water saved my life!!!
Definitely have the sulpher (egg) burps. I have never had them before in my life. Started trulicity and I have had the following symptoms. Severe stomach cramps, burps, feeling full all the time, nauseous, constipation and diarrhea bouts. It is odd to go from diarrhea to constipation in only a day. My only saving grace is controlled blood sugar levels. It is much lower on a regular basis regardless how I eat.
Was on Metformin 2xdaily , Tresiba 1x daily and Jardiance 1x daily. Never kept good levels. Scratch the tresiba and swap with trulicity.
Pros. Only one shot a week. I hate shots. Better levels.
Cons. All the stomach issues. Feeling of being exhausted all the time.
Solution. Start controlling what I eat better and I could probably stop taking trulicity.
I am wondering, has anyone kept a food diary, or experienced any relief from prokinetics (metoclopramide, domperidone etc)?
Also curious to hear if Pepto Bismol or anything has helped. I can't stand these episodes. They are ruining my life :(
Started taking it last year and apart from feeling sick a little I was fine, drug worked fantastic.
Then after 5 months started with eggy burps and bad-smelling flatulence.
I then had a sudden bout of really bad diarrhea 3 weeks continual, every hours ,night and day it nearly killed me mentally.
I stopped taking it the first week but it took 3 weeks for me to be able to move away from a toilet.
I didn't start using it again until this week when my diabetic nurse said it wouldn't have been Trulicity and I should start using it again. I injected Tuesday, it's now Thursday and I've eggy burps, stomach cramps, just waiting for the runs to start. I wont be taking it any more.
It works well. I also lost 10kg when using it and levels dropped 30% but I can't live like that.
Hahaha I’m sorry but I have been dealing with horrendous sulfur burps for months! Actually my husband refuses to sleep next to me when I take my shot! Apparently if I move in my sleep a long melodic burp escapes my mouth and makes him want to puke!!! I’m so glad I’m not alone!!!
I have fought thru all the burps, squirts, nausea, puking and I have to say, if you can handle all that for at least 6 - 8 weeks the side effects subside to almost nothing. My sugars are great and my doctor has reduced the amount of other meds I was taking and now increased the Trulicity to 1.5mg. I now wouldnt have it any other way versus taking a handful of meds each day. I still have a little bit of stomach issues after the 1st day of my injection that will last for a few hours and go away. Stick with it if at all possible and keep a close watch on your sugars, you will be amazed at the results. Of course with diet and exercise too.
Sulfur burps, gassy stomach and diarrhea are the worst. I have been taking Trulicity for about 8 weeks and that is the only unpleasant thing about it. My numbers are great and I even had a LOW reading which I haven't had in over a year. I've been eating Tums like Skittles with no relief. I reached out to my doctor and she prescribed me something. So we'll see how this works.
Yes I'm glad I looked up was worried but I see every one else the same been on 3 weeks I hope it get better
I have been taking Trulicity for 8 months. During the first month I was vomiting 2-3 days after taking the shot but that has gone away entirely. I still get the burps in the morning but that is also much less now. I tend to watch what I eat especially 2-3 days after the shot. My diabetes doctor recommend I drink a lot of water and that also seems to help. My A1-C is way down. I am glad I stayed with it since I can manage these minor side effects.
I'm taking Trulicity now for several months and have the same experience. Usually having the same problems after Day 3 or when over eating especially in the evening. After month 2 it got quite better
with the symptoms, have lost some weight but really have to watch my food intake. Never-less my blood sugar has improved drastically with taking in addition 2x a day 1000mg Metformin. Diarrhea and feeling bad with gas stomach is still existing but not as frequently as in the first month. I guess I can live with it for the time unless there will be other side effects occurring
. Will have my doctor check me out soon again and have blood work done. Berney
I have been on Trulicity for about 6 weeks. I inject on Saturday and by Sunday morning the Egg burps starts. I also have horrible gas and stomach cramps and heartburn which last until at least Thursday morning. This is accompanied by diarrhea and then constipation. All eases off on Thursday and Friday I feel good. Then the cycle starts over with the injection on Saturday.
I was glad to hear I was not the only person with similar symptoms.
Yes! I’m so happy I found that I’m not the only person going crazy to find out what’s wrong with me!
Every week taking the shot within two days I start having diarrhea hand egg burps. I thought I was having stomach bug ( we have 4 children) that I got from one of the children. Nope. Every Friday shot day by Sunday I have the side effects then by Thursday it goes away till Friday I take shot again. Vicious cycle. Going to talk to diabetic dr to get off this drug!
Yes! 1 to 2 days after the shot. Egg burps, gas, Constipation
I do the same thing. I take my shot on Saturday and by Sunday the egg burps start - terrible gas and constipated. Is there anything for relief, because I'm loving my results with my sugars.and A1C.
