Trulicity - Egg burps, gas stomach, pain and diahrerea?

Glad I have this confirmation that this is all about having a very terrible reaction to Trulicity! The gas, burping, farting like never in my life, over and over, for five seconds long….the smells from the burps make you vomit!, I can not keep anything on my stomach, diareaha like never before everytime I eat… and I lay in a dead lifeless coma all day. I have never felt so bad or passed so much gas in all my life. It happens within 12 hours of the shot each week Thursdays and lasts through Tue or Wed…I get one day feeling better and wham, right after the shot it starts again. I told my husband I really thought it had to do with Trulicity, but no way of knowing until I found this thread! I called my endocrinologist immediately and will be stopping this medication today! I cant thank you all enough for helping me know what is causing this. My quality of life has gone to a big fat zero…and NO MED is worth that!

I only have nausea and sulfur burps egg burps and lord help me I’m ready this is my second shot it happens for about two days with me

No one warned me about the uncomfortable side effects of Trulicity, I never vomited or had diarrhea but the burps and gas were terrible and embarrassing. I had previously taken it and over the course of some months, they were considerably less. Then I guit for a while, and recently started back on it again and same thing all over again. Burps and gas. (Heartburn too?) Ugh make it stop! On the plus side, I've lost some weight and I hope my A1C will go back down. It was pretty dang high my last appointment. I'll tough it out. That burping though, oh my gosh.

I’ve been on this medication for a few months. The sulfur burps are the worst!! I found that my burps were related to me eating anything dairy within 3-4 days of my injection. Hope this helps. ❤️

I was actually on Trulicity September 2020 for a few weeks but I stopped because of side effects. My sugar levels dropped but the side effects were horrible. I stopped and my sugar levels went up A1C was over 10. I am now seeing diabetic specialist and they have started me back on Trulicity. The first shot was the worse I started vomiting 48 hours after my first dose and then the stomach cramps, diarrhea, and gas pain. I took my second shot Sunday night then 2 days later I am up all night with stomach pains. I am going to try and eat really small meals and drink lots of water. I also think Diet Soda makes it worse. Anyone else find any solutions for these terrible effects?

I have been on Trulicity for 2 months now, The first week, I threw up and had diarrhea for the entire day. Now, when I take my injection on Fridays, I have awful smelling burps and a queasy stomach for 3 days and sometimes diarrhea. The side effects are awful, but I have seen a big improvement in my A-1C levels.

I am sooo happy to have found this thread. I've had 4 weeks is this misery.

Ok on shot day, but the following 3 days are MISERABLE, then it goes back to normal, only to start again the day after the shot. Today is my first day NOT taking it. I value the lower #s, but being miserable 1/2 my life is not a fair trade.

Guess I'm back to the Dr to see what other options I've got.

Oh my gosh I’ve just found this thread! I’ve been on Trulicity since December, and until a month ago I only suffered slight nausea the day after injecting.
But then I had three days of diarrhoea. Came good, but a week later I was projectile vomiting with horrendous diarrhoea for several days. Came good. Then on the Friday, back again.
And today is another Friday. Back again.
The day I inject is .Wednesday.
My sugars are good. I had been diet controlled before December, when my sugars did a huge spike after major surgery ( both hips replaced), and the physician insisted I take something as infection is a major worry.
I’m going to talk to my GP as soon as possible...

I’m only on week 2 and the burps are SO bad. First week I was very nauseas, then noticed I had lost my appetite- great for me! Then I thought I had heart burn but it was a HUGE burp, and oh my it stank even my husband commented

I have been wondering what is wrong with me. I started taking Trulicity in October 2020. Right after Thanksgiving I started having the sulfur burps and diarrhea. I thought I had over indulged at Thanksgiving dinner but it did not stop. I’ve been to a gastro doctor and they ran test and couldn’t find anything wrong. The doctor that put me on the meds was so pleased that my A1C had gone from 12 to 6.9 was too busy to listen to me telling him about the diarrhea. OMG! I’m scheduled for a colonoscopy but maybe I should just stop taking this medicine. I have been miserable all these months!!!

Well I have the same thing you do as far as what you explained in your message. And my doctor said it was completely normal because you’re food stays in your stomach longer and develops gas that smell rotten.

I had to quit taking it. Tried it for 6 months. I still have the burps it created 6 mo. after stopping the I injections of trulicity. Stomach upset took 2 months to stop.

Trulicity really controls my blood sugar but the side effects are so bad I may have to stop taking it. I have severe abdominal pain, bloating and continuous burping (foul small )from day one to four. Last three days are not bad.
Any one has any suggestions what kind of food I can eat. I live on fruits now.

I’m the same, I was on a low dose for 3 weeks no side effects, then went on the higher dose for 6 weeks and the stomach pain, diarrhoea, burping sulphur is so bad, it happens about 48hrs after my weekly injection and lasts 3-4days, so I am only getting 3 days a week of being okay. I am gonna go back on the lower dose I think, my blood sugars are a lot lower which is good but I can’t do this pain anymore! The
