Can a doctor write two scripts in a month? Adderall XR(30 pills,Jan,4th) to Adderall IR (60p,Jan27)?

On January 4th I got a prescription of Adderall XR 10 mg, it only lasted an hour, so my doctor gave me a prescription of 20 mg twice a day of regular Adderall. The problem is it is the 25th. Can I get a new script before 30 days of my original script running out?
