Hydrocodone for chronic pain?

Im taking hydrocodone for chronic pain. Should I wait until I feel pain to take it or should i take it before the pain starts?

Those with back pain from Symbicort--was it upper back? Did it go away and return? Sharp or dull?

Taking pravastatin for about a year. 40 mg until May 2021. Now on 80 mg.
