I’ve just started Zoloft, the first 2 days I took about 3pm, but only took 12.5mg, I then increased to 25mg taking at about 2pm. It is really wrecking my sleep! I fall asleep but toss & turn and was awake at 4am... will this get better? Should I take it in the morning or night? My pdoc said it didn’t matter... help!
Not sleeping on Zoloft 25mg?

Hi, girl!
"Very common (10% or more): Insomnia (up to 21%)"
"Some side effects of sertraline may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:
trouble sleeping"
"Side effects have been reported to be generally mild and transient. They are most common during the first 2 weeks of treatment and decrease in intensity and frequency with continued treatment. They generally do not lead to treatment cessation."
Yes, this side effect generally resolves quickly but if you find the drug too energizing you could try just taking it in the morning. But remember if you do to try to take it at approximately the same time each day.
i had the issue with sleep also. i take it in the morning now and it IS helping - it also is getting better over time : ) i've passed the 3rd week mark now and am up to 100mg, having started at 50mg.
i've lost some weight too - that was a great surprise! i was getting headaches - those stopped. i'm not sure, but now that you mentioned it? the restless leg syndrome, i have that and i think it may be less bothersome now??? the uglies (that shaky, nervy, can't sit still, but can't get moving, don't feel up to talking to anyone, hope the phone does not ring, yada yada) ... have sort of,,, subtle-y smoothed away. i still have the tightness in my muscles, there are noticeable traces of side effects if i make a point to notice, you know? instead, making a point to stretch - read yoga? maybe?, or swim if you have access - that'd be wonderful to do about now - any gentle exercise that eases the body into movement.
i am beginning to notice myself thinking - having clear thinking - and time to do it in - that time when i guess i must have been fogged in/bogged down/pained up - is more available to me and without intention, i find myself naturally falling into times of thought about good and healthy things : ) it's nice.
it is worth waiting for, for me. i hope it proves to be a good choice for both of us!
I’m now on 37.5mg, I take it in the morning & I am exhausted all day... wondering if I should try dinner or bedtime???
