Was just prescribed gabapentin?

That is an extremely low dose never heard of it being used for anxiety gabapentin is designed to be used for neuromuscular nerve pain I am on a much higher dose and doing everything I can to get off it the drug is more difficult to wean off of than an opioid the side effects are horrible stay off it many more medications for anxiety that are effective and don't have issues with weaning off it you can Google weaning off gabapentin and see all the issues this has caused me to check any new medicine the Dr puts me on for what happens when I no longer need or want to stay on a particular medication

I know that it can be a difficult decision to decide to take a medication but remember that it's mostly your anxiety talking... don't let your anxiety control your life. This medication was prescribed to help you with that anxiety.
Sure, there may be some side effects but for the majority of users they are mild and transient usually resolving in just days to a week or so as your system adjusts to the drug. Many people have no side effects at all.
