This is a very odd substance. I disregarded my epilepsy after 6 years of not having a convulsion and had a Grand Mal Seizure about a week ago. I am currently on 9900MGs of gabapentin. The last time I took 6000MGs and I was out but, if you have epilepsy there really isn't a prescribed dose. In my opinion if you have to take anything past 4000MGs you should be taking Pregabalin (Lyrica) instead of taking a mass amount of Neurontin instead. I'm am currently struggling with my dose of Gabapentin. I hope this helps, Epilepsy is very serious and I neglected it for 6 years until I had the worst experience of my life that I remember through and through. A 90 minute convulsion and immediately called the ER once I could move and grab my phone out of my pocket. Anybody that has severe convulsions should be on Pregabalin in my opinion. I hope the helps.
From what I’ve heard, anything under 5000mg per day is okay. I’m on 3600mg per day.
