I take 200mg three times daily. I feel like I want to see if I can increase it. Would an extra dose help? I have had my clonazepam reduced over time to 2mg a day. Gabapentin helps by decreasing the need for clonazepam, but I find that I still need the clonazepam. Anyone use it for anxiety?
I take gabapentin for anxiety. Has anyone ever taken it for this reason?

I take Gabapentin, but it was not prescribed for anxiety. I have 3 herniated discs, at least one pinched nerve in my neck, and neuropathy in my feet and the Gabapentin helps some with the nerve pain. I also suffer from anxiety and was prescribed clonazepam for that which seemed to help my anxiety quite a bit. I was taking Gabapentin before I was put on the clonazepam and couldn't tell that it ever did a thing to help my anxiety. I lost my doctor about 3 months ago and I won't be able to refill my clonazepam until I get a new doctor. I still had several refills left for my Gabapentin so I'm still taking that. Now that I'm off of the clonazepam I've noticed my anxiety has returned almost full force. So basically I haven't been able to see that the Gabapentin has helped my anxiety whatsoever. I hope it performs better for you as an anxiety treatment than it has me. Good luck!
Not sure how long you were on clonazepam but you should not quit cold turkey. This drug needs to be slowly tapered off. I would do some research on both drugs. The doctors tell us nothing. Good luck.
I hope you can find a doctor, soon for your anxiety. There is never a good time to run out, but it is extremely important given this pandemic. When I was being transferred between doctors the previous one wanted to snap her fingers and cut me off. Thankfully she wasn’t able to do that ethically. Have you tried your State/city/county office to find someone for time being? I had to turn to that option when previous doctor wasn’t going to refill while waiting for new doctor. I don’t know why Gabapentin works so well for me. I know it’s for nerve pain. Please, keep us updated on your situation, I want to see that you are doing well.
