I have daily nervousness anxiety, especially in the morning. I feel better if I take a very small amount of clonazepam(.25). I also take a low maintenance dose of Escitalopram(5mg). In the past I’ve had 2 clinical depressions. I work on many levels to control my anxiety... yoga, walks, meditation, healthy diet.
Does use of clonazepam help with daily morning anxiety?

What WCVet said it correct in my opinion. It is best not to rely on regular use of any benzo drug, as they are only supposed to be used for the short term (periodic, not regular) control of anxiety... short term meaning no longer than 3 weeks. If I were you I would really try sticking with all the other healthy things (breathing, meditation) and try not to increase the dose of anything unless you have to. The problem with going up on lexapro is that it may help for a while, but then likely to once again become less effective over time. Try meditation before you get out of bed each morning to see if you can nip it in the bud early. All this said, .25 mg is a very low dose, but if you keep using it you will likely need to increase that dose soon to get the same effect.
Hi, Alex!
Clonazepam is usually prescribed to be used in conjunction with an antidepressant/anxiolytic until it becomes full effective. If your dosage of escitalopram isn't controlling your symptoms of anxiety you might want to talk with your doctor about a possible dosage increase,
I agree klonopin should be there to get you on track. I was prescribed buspar for anxiety and glad I had some klonopin to help bridge the gap till buspar kicked in. Hydroxyzine can also be used for anxiety but it might make you sleepy.
