I have daily headaches but no doctors I have seen will give me a prescription. My pain specialist just wants to give me medial branch blocks or steroid shots in my head and a med called baclofen. None of these work. They say it is cervicogenic headaches neck origin but I know it is also stress related and it feels like migraines. My neurologist just gives me exercises and tells me to apply cold to my head.Apparently he has never had a migraine. What can I do I have tried several different doctors and each time the wait list is weeks or months

Years back Fioricet has been a common med prescribed for headache pain. But no longer I guess. Fioricet is a combination med consisting of
*butalbital (which is a barbiturate)
*acetaminophen
*caffeine
It is very good for tension headache. Can be used for migraines but there are better meds available. A lot of doctors do not like to use drugs with barbiturates in them because barbiturates can be addictive. In many cases an older doctor (>50 years old) is more likely to prescribe Fioricet since it is an old med that has been around for a long time and was very effective, In fact 25 years ago or so Fioricet was commonly prescribed for headaches.
