I have to say my quality of life has gone downhill. I have every one of the common side effects. Had anyone else been affected in this way and if so how do you cope? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy 7 weeks ago and was put on Entresto straight away.

I was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy with reduced ejection fraction of 25% in November 2020. I was prescribed Entresto, which made me feel lethargic, short of breath and dizzy upon standing.
I could not accept that I was this sick and there was nothing I could do about it, so I started reading everything I could about various medical studies related to my condition. I stumbled across some information on supplements and that is how I found out about C0Q10 Ubiquinol. I read that people who have cardiomyopathy are severely deficient in C0Q10 and supplementing could help a weak heart.
Read some of Dr. Sinatra's literature on reversing heart disease naturally. I began taking Selenium, Magnesium, C0Q10 Ubiquinol, D-Ribose, L-Carnitine, and pure forms of Vitamin E tocopherol and tocotrienol.
When I got out of the ICU in November 2020, I could not walk to the bathroom without stopping to catch my breath. I thought I was done for sure. Fast forward to this July 4th weekend... I walked 5 miles on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, in heavy beach sand and the last 1/2 mile of my walk is up a severe incline that does not let up. I was also carrying a 30lb backpack on my back. I was never winded during any of those walks and those were the first times I had done them. I was sweaty and developed blisters on my feet, but that was it.
I started taking Selenium, Unique E, which is a pure form of vitamin E, tocopherol and tocotrienol, Ubiquinol coq10, magnesium, d-ribose, and l-carnitine in March 2022.
I stopped taking Entresto in December 2021. Since my diagnosis, I have not had a normal ekg tracing, all have been abnormal, until June 2022 when I had complete blood count, BNP, and Troponin I, ekg, and chest x-ray done at the hospital.
My ekg was normal, my BNP dropped from 472 in November 2020 to 12 in June 2022. My troponin I was .48 in November 2020 and negative in June 2022. My chest x-ray was normal with no enlargement of my heart.
My cardiologist is stunned with my results, and he told me C0Q10 Ubiquinol would not improve my condition.
Please look into Dr Sinatra's literature. He is a cardiologist who believes in using vitamins to improve or reverse heart conditions... there is hope for everyone that your heart condition can be improved as well as your quality of life. Dont give up on yourself, our amazing bodies want to heal themselves, we just need to help them along.
Hello, dwosburn -
I’m so happy to read this as I am in a similar predicament! I have a consult set up with Dr Roberts, author of said book you recommended. Can’t wait to start his recommendations when I get them. Can you give us an update? We’re you in anything else besides Entresto? I am on it but only 3 weeks in. Too early to tell if it will work. Thank you! Grace
I had the same experience with using recommendations of Dr Sinatra book.
My ejection fraction went from 20 to 43 in a month. Then to 55%.
It is a mystery to me what role entresto had in this results.
I like to get off this drug but my doctor will not approve.
Richard804 - that’s great about your ejection fraction. Mine is up too, but I still have a ways to go to be completely healed. I also am wondering how much is supplements and how is much is meds. I’ve read of a lot of stories where people can eventually be off all meds. I’ve booked consults with Dr. Roberts since my cardiologist poo poos supplements. He did say it was ok to take what Dr. Roberts said to but it was clear he thought it wasn’t going to help.
I was diagnosed with same in March and I went thru a terrible time with low blood pressure dizziness lethargy unable to eat and I lost more than 10kgs in weight. I was asked never to stop taking the medication and yes it improved lots with time. The only problem left now is the abdominal discomfort/pain below the breasts getting on to the back. Most evenings not all the time. You will get better as the medication gets used to your body in time. Best wishes.
