... im probation. shes a very strict, to the book, po. please help me out if your able to. thank you~ geminibad
suboxone will only show up as bupenorphine, it will NOTshow as opiate or methadone. most probation offices don't even check for it. that being said, you can not just switch from methadone right over to suboxone, there is a specific way they get you tapered down to 30 mgs of less of methadone, a 72 hour methadone free wait, and then start on suboxone' sister med, subutex. I put that in there just in case you are already on methadone. Many times someone adds that and it changes the rules around with suboxone use. Trust me on this, if you are on more than 30mgs of methadone and you switch to suboxone without a dr helping you, precipitated withdrawal will occur and I always have to add the info on the proper switch to subutex from methadone, in case anyone else is reading this and decides to get some off the street and take it, it doesn't work that way. I appologize if my caveat about the methadone, if you are not on it, just have to always add that .
Many are and don't know you can't go straight from methadone to suboxone and they read these posts even if they never post or comment. Patti
I don't understand??? If you are on Methadone, then why don't you have the doctor or clinic that is giving you the Methadone taper you off of it the safe, legal, way!!! I am on methadone through a clinic and all that I have to do is tell them that I want off the Methadone and BINGO!!! THEY start me on a taper at a pace that works for me so that I do not have withdrawal! why do you need to switch to Suboxone? I'm not judging you or trying to be a hard ass or anything, but I see soo many other ppl on here who are trying to go off opiates but they switch from one to the other and try tapering on their own, but if they are in a clinic or under a doctors care, they can do it with them... it takes time to taper off safely, and it takes patients!! Believe me, you can't get off the stuff as fast as you got addicted!! and it also won't work even if you do get off if you don't have some type of after care... you will be right back to where you were when you started taking the Methadone.
