I have had 2 injections of Prolia and thigh muscles are giving out at times and when they do it hurts in the muscle and almost causes me to fall. I read in the side effects that it also causes pain in feet and hands, inflammation plus bacteria in body. My doctor is having to change my medication mainly because my insurance won't pay for it now but even if that wasn't the case I would have been talking to my doctor and I was do for another injection of it in November so I'm thankful that my insurance won't pay for it now. I don't know what he will put me on now. I know evenity actually worked for me whereas reclasp didn't or Fosamax
I also had foot pain/inflammation from this medication
I’ve had 2 doses and fortunately no side effects. I was lucky with 3 years of Forteo and one of Evenity. I am thankful that all have been easy. The plan is one more year of Prolia and then one year of Reclast. I have had bouts of muscle pain since having 4 compression fractures, but none from meds. I have a musculoskeletal disorder due to the fractures. That can cause muscle and nerve pain.
I didn’t realize there were other options for osteoporosis.
I will be researching what you mentioned.
Many thanks!!
I was put on Prolia in 2016 for Osteoporosis and I’ve been having severe joint pain for years and it keeps getting worse. The other day I saw an advertisement for Prolia and it says “may cause joint pain”. First time I heard that! I need any help advice ideas or anything about Prolia causing joint pain.
I have back and hip pain. Had my final shop 6/7. Also a runny nose that I did not even think Prolia could cause.
I had my 2nd injection a couple of weeks ago and am experiencing severe pain and weakness in both upper arms. I can't roll over in bed or pull the sheet over me. My hips are sore too. I will not be taking another injection. This stuff is not worth it.
I have now had three Prolia injections.
I have throbbing pain in the joints of my fingers and toes. Every vertebrae in my spine is in pain from the base of my skull to the tailbone. I feel as if I’ve aged 25 years in just days.
A pharmacist friend said that growing bone is painful ... to think back to childhood growing pains. I am HOPING that she is correct. It’s 4:32 am and painfully awake.
Cynical1, I am terribly sorry you are in such pain. From what I’ve read, this medicine was originally created for bone cancer. The pain you are feeling is not from growing pains. It is one of the 8 pages of side effects of this medicine. Bone pain! My grandma was given 1 shot at 93 yrs of age. Five years later and she still had terrible bone pain, causing her to fall because it hurt too bad to stand.
Please read the side effects!
Take care of you.
I have now had my third prolia vaccination. I have terrible pain in my thigh bones and when I told my rheumatologist doctor she actually laughed at me and said that canot be. Well it's true and I am in a lot of pain. I'm not sure what I can do about it but this is going to be very hard to live with. She wants me to take another round next time and I'm not this is it
Hello, My wife is having severe bone pain in her hips, upper thighs and her lower back. She is suspicious that the pain may be due to an adverse drug reaction to Prolia. How did you determine you had a Prolia reaction? How long did your pain last? Did you find anything that decreased the pain? Did you have any more Prolia injections? I hope you're doing better. Thank you
I had my first Prolia injection in Oct 2016 and I am experiencing severe trochanteric bursitis as well as back and bone pain, especially in my legs, knees, and ankles.
I just took my second shot on 10/5/16. I had joint and bone pain with the second shot exactly like I did the first time and literally there isn't a bone or joint in my body that hasn't ached. You feel like you have the flu from it less the coughing. The pain is almost unbearable. I am sleeping on heating pads to try to get relief. It is very hard once I sit down to get back up and sleeping is out of the picture. My teeth actually ache from this shot. I do not know if I will continue getting this shot
Hello, my wife is having severe bone pain in her hips, upper thighs and her lower back. She suspects that the pain is from an adverse reaction to the Prolia injections she has received. How did you diagnosis your pain as a Prolia reaction? Did you find anything to relieve the pain and how long did the pain last? Are you still taking Prolia? Thank you.
I have severe joint and muscle pain from prolia shot June 1. Will not take another in 6 months. If anyone can tell me how to get rid of the pain, it would be greatly appreciated.
