I got mine filled on the 18th of this month from Walmart. It's horrible! I am not convinced that it is even close to being a replacement for the name brand Adderall. I can't stay awake, feel cranky/moody, headaches that won't go away, shaky, I can't find barely anything on the internet about this medicine either.. Its a white stop sign shaped pill marked m in a box on one side and a 20 on the other.. Anyone else have any issues??
Has anyone else received a new 20mg generic Adderall from Mallinckrodt lately?

I just got those and I swear there a placebo. I don't even think there real. I got them in a different state, I'm not even taking them
I am not only rxed to these but I am also a pharmacy tech. I have had nothing but complaints about these. They have caused everything from headaches to vomiting in some patients and EVERY SINGLE PATIENT has complained saying they don't work. my pharmacy has had some doctors actually give their patients new prescriptions (after making the patients take their remaining meds to the doctors office to count). They are the cheapest generic and therefore alot of pharmacies are ordering them. I highly suggest calling around to different pharmacies and seeing if they have the brand you are used to and asking your pharmacist to please notate your account that you cannot take this brand that way you don't have to worry about them filling it with that brand. Also always make sure you check before you leave the pharmacy because once you have left the pharmacy it is very hard to get them to take them back and give you your prescription back. It's actually technically against the law but we have done it for patients who have had bad reactions.
If any pharmacy gives you those. Throw it back at them and go elsewhere. I dont know whats in them but i can tell you whats NOT in them... adderall!!!
I have had a HELLish experience with Mallinckrodtph 20 mg ic amphetamine salts
i go to CVS in massachusetts. They never said anything about changing brands the waited until after they'd filled the prescription to mention this. I AM SICK. Naseau and nearly vomitting cannot think and I'm unable to function very irrable and my temper is short as can be.
DO NOT GO WITH THE WHITE OCTAGANAL PILLS
Yes, this is the worst pill they have made as of yet! I have been taking Adderall for about 14 years, (I have also tried all the older ADD meds. out there) and have have often switched dosages throughout the year, but currently take two 20mgs ir,( Mallinckrodt) & one 10mg ir, (10mg ir is different MRF:Corepharma). I've been noticing over the last year or two that Adderall has not had the same affect, so I have been adjusting the dosages till I got to this. The 20mg Mallinckrodt gave me all of the negative affects of adderall that I would typically get,(jittery, non-social sometimes, dry mouth, & etc.) but gave me no positive affects and made me feel more tired, not alert, disorganized thinking about a million different tasks. Along with this, my skin broke out in red bumps, (which has never happened with taking my Adderall ) which they said was probably due to me having an allergic reaction to the new filers in the chemical compound.
I scraped 50 pills and am having the doc write a either 30mg xr or two 20mg ir by a different manufacture, (maybe Sandoz). Does anyone know the best manufacture that gives the same kind of feeling as the 30mg xr's from 5 years ago, (Sandoz/Eon, Barr/Teva or is their a better one)?
Also, these companies need to be reported for putting garbage in their pills and these pills dictate my days, business, cash, life and everything else in-between, so I just don't understand how they are getting away with manufacturing this crap and dispensing it to people like lab rats, only for it to get taken off of the selves due to recall/complaints. I've been researching this for an hour and thats all I hear is they don't work, bad experiences/effects and etc.
Also had trouble with XR Mallinkrodt. 30 mg. Was like taking a placebo. Brown/clear/white beads, with stop sign logo. Read that Sandoz is an "authorized" generic, manufactured by Shire. I always specify to my provider that brand generic now for my primary refills, with Teva IR for my evening dose, if needed, for rehearsals.
Yes! I know this is an old thread but I received mine today. I am used to generic since I always have gotten that before, but this is my second time receiving these white ones. I usually get the orange ones. I have noticed that these don't seem to really do anything at all! I know , it's not supposed to " do" a lot in terms of an energy boost for people with ADHD, I'm not looking for a high. I don't have insurance so I had to wait about a week and a half to fill my RX, so I had built up a little tolerance and so far, I don't feel these are working as effectively as the other ones. As I stated earlier this is my second time receiving the white ones and the last time was a similar experience. I noticed a huge difference in price however which is how I was able to get mine filled today. I normally was paying Walgreens $86 for my script and today went to Costco , where it was only $20. I'm stumped!
I just received the 20mg generic adderall from Mallinckrodt for the first time last month. Worst month of life!! I thought it was something wrong with me - painful migraine like headaches, extreme irritability, short temper, hyperactivity (like my regular ADHD symptoms, but more prominent) and cannot complete work, tasks, or sentences! Found myself searching for simple words and phrases like “garment bag” ..so embarassing. I had a job interview and could hardly describe my resume, answer questions, and think critically.
I've been on adderall for over 20 years. I just got this white stop sign shaped pill 20 mg and I can tell you this is NOT adderall! It's more like the dexadrine I took before adderall came out. My heart races, I'm shaky and I've had a constant dull headache. I called my pharmacy and they said this is the only manufacturer making adderall now and they haven't received any complaints. I find both of those claims hard to believe!
I just started back taking Adderall, after an 18 month break from it. I took orange 20 mgs for 8 years prior to break. I had been given pink 20 mg generics ones, and they were fine... but these white pills are questionable.. I ,at first, thought it was just me... but found all kinds of complaints, online. My hands shake... heart races,am nauseous, and cannot concentrate on a damn thing. My mind is racing constantly. Plus,my stomach has been very upset. Less than seven days on this med,and today ,I didn't take it. I am furious, and know there is not one damn thing I can do about it,but complain.
I also posted a complaint about this generic to the FDA website. This company has gotten in trouble for bad mixes of ADHD medicine before and if everyone is experiencing these symptoms as they say, the manufacturer needs to be held accountable!
Oh my goodness I just filled my prescription and received these. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. I have been on and off this medication for years. I have never experienced this "head fog" and headaches from adderral. I actually fell asleep after taking my normal dose. My medication usually helps me focus within 30 minutes. These made my mind so blurry. I don't know what this crap is but hopefully my Dr can write a new script or somehow I can use a different pharmacy.
I've been feeling the same way and will be looking for a Pharmacy that can fill with the orange football shaped pills as that is what I had for years before Costco changed to this White pill by "M'CKRODT SPEC" is what shows on my last RX filled by Costco on 9/14. I've had to have my 10mg pills upped to 20mg and now 30mg and I feel likeI'm in a fog. I just started a new job and in lots of training and I'm absolutely exhausted taking 1 & 2 pills extra in a day thinking it's me but I knew when I'm now coming home and napping on my lunch after taking 30-40mg of Adderall that there is something else wrong. I hate that this is the issue and that other people are having the same issue but I'm glad it's not just me, it appears to be the maker of our RX.
I just got my rx filled at Walmart too ! Huge problem I literally will fall asleep and then I feel nauseous ! I never asked them to change but they did anyways and now won't fix my problem !!! Super frustrated
Have you had nasal congestion with this med?
Regarding 20mg generic adderall...
Yes, I too am experiencing a big difference between the Teva generic vs. the Costco Mallinckrodt. I have felt nausea, exhausted, and emotionally drained. I thought it was me. Perhaps there is an issue with the product not being disclosed.
I just got my prescription filled Monday and I got the white stop sign pill. I have nothing good to say about it. I am sick as hell with painful stomach aches and awful diarrhea... can't focus, irritable and fatigued... taking meds back to pharmacist today at 9:00am.
Yes, and it is horrible, does not work at all 3 a day is my dosage and works pretty good with regular adderall but with this generic 15 had no effect in fact I dozed off after lunch for 2 hours as you know this should be impossible ting to find a way to report this quality issue
Yes I have and it was a bad experience. Immediately after taking it, I would get stomach cramps. Once that subsided, I would get a low grade, nagging headache. I was also foggy headed and lethargic, however I could not sleep. It caused pain in my joints and/or muscles: leg pains, neck and lower back pain. I would rather suffer the consequences of my ADD symptoms than take this generic brand of Adderall. Unfortunately, both pharmacies I use have went to this brand.
My insurance company, Atnea refuses to let me get name brand Adderall, even though my Psych prescribed name brand and I have zero negative side effects with it.
Very frustrating!
I had an absolutely horrible response to the white generic, I got stuck with it once, mine was 30mg however. I have pretty nasty side effects from all the generics to be honest. No, I'm not dehydrated, if anything my water intake is excessive. What everyone has to realize is that each individual person will react to the fillers in different ways, some people won't have any problem whatsoever with the generics whereas people like myself seem to be overly sensitive to the generic fillers. The fillers change the way the stimulant is metabolized, which for some people can drastically change the medications effect. I have an appointment with my Doctor to request he write my RX for brand name Adderall, I've had it with the generic side effects. I'll find a way to cover the cost.
Good luck with that. My Psych prescribes name brand however my insurance company, Atnea, refuses to approve the name brand. I guess insurance companies are more knowledgable than Doctors these days. I hope your insurance is better than Atnea and allows you name brand.
