Chains and local have mentioned a shortage. I'm thankful I got mine filled two weeks ago. I would like to know if this is widespread. I am mainly referring to the BARR manufacturer, the peach color 20 mg IR. At this point I will take whatever they may have at my next refill. I really cannot stand this uncertainty.
Is anyone here also experiencing an Adderall generic IR shortage as of February 2019?

I only ask for the purpose of learning of whether or not this is something fairly small and random, or on a worrisome type of level, if that makes sense.
A coworker told me something that I cannot find any info about . She said the shortage had to do with the damage in Porto Rico, bc that’s where they are manufactured.... ? I know not to believe everything someone says, yet curious if that’s even remotely been heard of .

I have had the same problem..10-20 pharmacies all in person however, even though pharmacies cant tell you if they have adderall in stock, when I asked the question, "ok, can you tell me if it would be in my best interest to drive to your pharmacy?" I received and indirect answer, "yes, it would be in your best interest". I did however find my medication at a hospital pharmacy as they don't have as much public traffic and they usually maintain a larger inventory. They even told me that they have enough for next months prescription... (adderall 30mg XR)... On another note, I have been told that the federal government allocates only so much of the ingredients needed to make adderall to all pharmaceutical companies based on the previous years usage... and when current years usage exceeds what is projected, the pharma companies have to put a hold on production. I've noticed this every year for about 8 years and usually lasts about 2-3 months.

3/13 all NE Florida locations completely out, with an unknown replenishment date. Told 20mg at my pharmacy ran out in december, then recently the rest of the IR. I was told one key ingredient is not available to make the chem, and this is direct from the pharma, with unknown date when it will available again. This may be a ploy to sell their ER like in the past, but? I need at least 1 dose a day (1st thing in the AM) in order to literally be able to get out of bed and go to work. This is bad!

It’s the same in Louisville, Ky. All Walmart’s have been out since end of January. Getting my 20 mg script filed in February was a nightmare. Went 2 weeks without med and finally got filled at CVS. Went to Walmart today for refill. Still on back order and could be 3 more months. Frustrating !!

YES... I live in Ohio, and I am experiencing this shortage. I am on 20mg XR Adderall (generic) and 10mg IR Adderall (also generic, supposed to take twice per day). I went in to WalMart pharmacy yesterday to pick up my meds, and I was told that the 10mg IR Adderall had been backordered for TWO MONTHS and they have no idea when it will be in. They told me I could call around other pharmacies & get my doc to transfer... but I don't want to have to thru all of that crap... I have severe social anxiety as well, and the thought of having to deal with multiple strangers on the phone makes me ill.
I see that some of you are saying that the 10mg is available to you, but here in OH... not available. I guess I'm just going to have to wait and hope I'll be ok. Teva is the brandname of the generic I normally get... so I went on their Twitter page and gave them a piece of my mind. Probably won't help, but oh well. They have some stuff on their Twitter about giving medication to people in Guatemala... makes you wonder if that's where all the supply is going!!

My Walmart and Publix has been getting them in, once a week it seemed. They would obviously go so fast. So check with them everyday if need be. You might just catch a day when they have some in stock. Of course that's just what's occuring here in central Alabama.

Nebraskan here. I normally get my generic Adderall 20mg (mfg Teva) filled at Walgreens. Today (3/7/2019) they informed me they are completely out in all locations in the area, backordered, and have no estimate for when they could be back in stock.
I was advised to try calling some other pharmacies to see if they had any stock. The responses I've gotten so far have ranged from "no idea" to "maybe the end of March."
I haven't seen any local or national news stations covering a shortage of this particular drug despite extensive Googling. All the results I'm getting have been outdated. This is the only site I've been able to find that seems to even be aware of a shortage.

It really makes you wonder WHY this shortage isn't being made public. I even went to the FDA site where they publish all shortages... and guess what? The medication we are discussing is NOWHERE to be found. Now WHY is the FDA not publishing this shortage? Doesn't Teva have to report this?

Yes, I also passed by the FDA’s website and checked their shortages list while I was initially trying to research this... I wonder if it isn’t showing up because it doesn’t meet a certain threshold to be considered a shortage? Like maybe right now it’s just in some “spotty supply issues” category? That’d be my guess.

What I am hearing is a manufacturing problem in Puerto Rico. I hate to bring politics into this, but we all know who is refusing to help Puerto Rico with their rebuilding issues. Look no farther than the White House.

Hey! I'm glad you've also heard news regarding the Puerto Rico situation. A coworker is a nurse, she serves a few days here ans there for extra cash. Anyway, it seems credible that she would have knowledge about the Puerto Rico manufacturing problem.
I of course don't put blame on them, as they have suffered severely with the storm damage. I also feel the govt shutdown could also have prevented the FDA and DEA etc workers unable to do their jobs. I'm sure there's a process involved that is necessary to oversee distribution of this schedule 2 medication.
So along with those possible aspects, the fact that corepharma quit manufacturing the amphetamine salts may be yet another contributing factor.

U.S. President Donald Trump asked Congress on Tuesday for a $4.9 billion loan to help the cash-strapped Puerto Rican government pay its bills as the U.S. territory struggles to recover from Hurricane Maria, an administration official said.
Puerto Rico Governor Ricardo Rossello had asked for help with lines of credit in late September, saying his government was in a bind and did not expect to have any near-term revenue.
“The proposal to provide liquidity to the government represents an important first step for the transformation of PR,” Rossello tweeted on Tuesday evening.
Weighed down by nearly $72 billion in debt, Puerto Rico struggled with liquidity even before the most powerful hurricane in almost 90 years wiped out the island’s power grid, homes and other infrastructure nearly three weeks ago.
The territory, whose 3.4 million residents are American citizens, declared bankruptcy in May.
The community disaster loan proposed by the Trump administration would include a $150 million advance, the administration official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. Further details of the loan were not immediately available.
“The $4.9 billion loan would help them with short-term liquidity problems in financing,” such as payroll and pensions, the official said. “The money cannot be used for debt service.”
On Saturday, Rossello wrote to Trump pleading for a broad assistance package of at least $4.6 billion through a variety of government programs in what he called a “down payment on hurricane recovery efforts” as the island assesses the damages.
“Absent extraordinary measures to address the halt in economic activity in Puerto Rico, the humanitarian crisis will deepen,” Rossello said in the letter, warning the situation could lead to an exodus from the island to the mainland United States.
Moody’s (MCO)last week estimated the hurricane’s total cost to Puerto Rico, including lost output, at $45 billion to $95 billion.
The Trump administration and Congress have so far focused their funding efforts on immediate disaster relief. The U.S. House of Representatives is expected this week to consider a request for an additional $13 billion in disaster relief funds for hurricane victims in Puerto Rico, Texas and Florida.
The White House has also asked federal agencies to estimate by Oct. 25 how much money will be needed for longer-term rebuilding after the hurricanes.

I'm from Michigan and I can't get my adderall refilled they said there is back order and they don't know when they will be getting any in and that it is nationwide. I did receive my refill in February but cant get it for March. I run out tomorrow with no answers of when they will have any in.

Yes im in RI and i went yesterday to fill my 10mg IRand they are out of the generic brand i normally get. Last month they only had half the amount and gave me a different generic brand for the rest and they made me so nausea that i have been w/o meds...

As of yesterday Northeast Florida has the 20mg and 30mg on backorder. My sister was able to switch her script to the 10mg which are available. However, since her script is 60mg a day (three 20mg a day) the new script was for two 10mg three times a day and the insurance took a couple days to approve the amount of pills.
I had my script filled yesterday and was told more 30mg may come in on Friday at my pharmacy. Hopefully I can get mine filled then.

Southern Californian here. Got my prescription 2 weeks ago and have been going to every pharmacy I drive by (or near) they are all out. I'm on the 10mg and wanted brand and they all said they don't have that either. I was told they have been out for about 3 weeks now and not sure when the back orders will be filled. Even the smaller stand alone pharmacies are out. The anxiety, sigh!

Yes I have experienced the same thing every month since December 2018. I had to call 6 pharmacies to find the drug in my dosage. As far as a specific manufacturer Im not sure.
