I’m in South Florida as well and I’m having the same problem. I’ve been prescribed adderall since I was 6 years old (now 25 years old) and never had this problem up in Chicago where I raised and had it filled as recently as January. Every time I go to a new pharmacy to see if it’s in stock I get the judgmental look and turned away. My new doctor here though recommended trying a Mom and Pop pharmacy.
That’s odd. I’ve had no user get the generic adderall. Maybe it’s just your local area?
Hey Molly!
I offer this suggestion to all my friends in our group: look around and see if you can find a small, Mom & Pop pharmacy. I go to such a M&P pharmacy right down the block from my home. They always have my Adderall, I never have to wait, and I get a real feeling of community.
Same here in Massachusetts..I had my doc actually change the way my dose was written so I could fill my script. Instead of 2 20mg tablets he wrote for 1 30 mg tablet and a 10mg tablet..if we didn't do this I wouldn't be able to fill my RX..
As i used to live in south florida and used to go to cvs to get my meds filled, Im sorry to say that CVS discriminates against pain management patients and doctors. I know this as when the DEA was shutting down all the pain clinics in S.F. years ago, CVS would tell you when u tried to fill your oxycodone 30s that they didnt have any, they were on backorder and they didnt know when or if they were getting any. My friend wasnt a pain patient and she never had a problem getting her oxycodone 30s so it looks like CVS is at it again with the adderall 30s, picking and choosing whose prescription they fill and whose they dont. I went in after my friend who has a beard and looks scraggly tried to fill his oxycodone script and they told him didnt have any. I went in well manicured in a business suit and they filled my oxycodone immediately. Use a different pharmacy, CVS doesnt like pain mgmt patients.
I have had the same issue here in South Florida for the last 2+ months. What pharmacies are you going to? My regular pharmacy was CVS (one location near my office and another closer to home) and starting 1/31/19 both said they had to order the Generic 20mg IR and the 30mg XR. Since then, through numerous phone calls, in person visits etc. they still insisted both medications were not available, not in, and no timeline as to when they would be back in stock. Blamed the wholesaler and said they placed the order and cannot control the availability. Today I had my monthly visit with my doctor and expressed my frustration, I asked this time to have it sent to Walgreens rather than CVS (he sends the scripts electronically) and not only did they show in process but the 30mg XR was filled with no problem, and I had it less than 30 min after the Pharmacy opened for the day.
My experience with CVS has not been encouraging or pleasant and I felt like I was being treated like a common criminal just for asking for the availability of my prescribed medication. Walgreen was like a breath of fresh air... I encourage you to try...
Thank you so much. I am also in south Florida. I usually go to Walmart, after the first 2 weeks I tried Cvs at several locations. I am now over a month late. I will call my Doctor tomorrow morning and have hi send it to Walgreen's
.
Walmart and CVS are absolutely against anyone in pain mgmt and will rip your scripts up in front of customers like their putting on a show. Walgreens is better but if they hear something derogatory against the dr., they wont fill a narcotic script. Use a mom and pop pharmacy, they are all great and will fill your scripts, forget the large pharmacies, they are against pain mgmt and will tell you so.
