Has anyone else heard this? Any suggestions about what to do? The pharmacist said to call my doctor and have him prescribe the 10mg tablets. I'm happy with the 5mg so I'm not thrilled at the idea of upping it. What do you think I should do? -Mel
I was just told by the pharmacy that the manufacturer of Adderall is not making the 5mg anymore?

Hey mel ander,
I believe the immediate release Adderall 10 mg is scored so you can cut in half. It also comes in a 7.5 mg if you didn't want to cut a 10 mg in half, it would still be a little more than 5 mg but better than 10 mg. The extended release is a capsule so can't cut in half. Which type of adderall do you take, the immediate release or the extended release?
Best wishes,
Laurie
Thanks for answering. I take the immediate release. I will call my doctor and pharmacist about splitting the 10mg tablet. Do you have any idea if the pharmacy can split the pills for you? I end up crushing them when I've had to do that.
I doubt they will do it for you but you can purchase or ask the pharmacist for a pill splitter. It works great and won't crush the pill as bad as when you try to do it by hand.
Thank you Laurie.
Find out if you can split the 10mg tablet. Call the pharmatist. & ask...
