"It completely worked for birth control. Even if I forgot to take it for a couple days, I never had a pregnancy. But the past 2 1/2 years i started to break out badly and I would feel a pain in the opening of my vagina during sex. It literally felt like I had a cut in a certain spot. I had it checked out immediately by my gynecologist and he couldn't figure it out. I stopped sex for up to a month to see if it was something that needed to heal and it never went away. It was so painful I would almost cry every time and it made me scared to have sex. I never once thought it could be the pill but I recently stopped taking it just to take a break and that pain went away in a week! And I also got pregnant within a month of stopping too."

"I was on Gianvi for 3 months and had to switch to Loryna because I had to switch pharmacies and they didn’t carry Gianvi. I’ve been on it for a little over a month and I wake up sooooo hungry. I feel like I’m starving I’m so hungry. Like I have to eat in that very moment. Also, my overall appetite is increased like crazy. I always have to snack or eat. So far I haven’t gained any weight but I could definitely see how it’s a possibility. Overall it’s an okay birth control. I’ve definitely been on worse."

"I love this birth control I have taken on and off for many years, after a month of adjusting and taking it on time I do not have aide effects. I have less severe PMS and lighter periods. I was taking Yaz for PMDD I do not think it worked any better than Loryna..I have Great sex drive and have not gained any weight. I do feel as though my breast feel a tad fuller even though I have adjusted to the pill with time. I think this helps with water weight gain something I have suffered from due to PMDD. My skin stays clearer. Do not smoke on this pill. I would definitely recommend to those with severe PMS"

"So far so good! The first few days were a bit rough, I experienced some mood swings and negative thoughts, and some wild dreams, even a few pimples showed up. It seems the side effects have subsided and my body is starting to get used to it. I would definitely recommend trying it and giving it a few days, you'll start to feel like your normal self again."

"I was on this pill for about a month. What I loved about it is I felt great on it -periods were light, my headaches I had from previous bc were gone, I lost weight and even felt more balanced mood wise on this pill. I loved it. Then all of a sudden I got a breakout of eczema under my armpits. I have never had issue with eczema in my life. It was embarrassing because my armpits itched all the time. It also spread to my legs all of a sudden. My general doctor got some cream to put on it and it still was not clearing up after 3 weeks. I decided to switch back to my previous bc and within 2 days the eczema started to feel better and eventually cleared. I am not sure what I was allergic to in that medication but it didn't like me."

"I had no initial issues with loryna, but 6 months in I started to notice different changes with my body. My cycle was off, mood was terrible, low libido, and my breast were larger. Overall I just did not feel like myself. I shared my concerns with my gyno and she said that my body was 'adjusting.' This didn't make sense because at the time I was 36 and had been on birth control before. You adjust the first 6 months, but not after taking for 6 months. Needless to say, I had an abnormal pap. I stopped taking loryna immediately. 6 months later after stopping loryna, copolscopy and folic acid... my pap was normal again. Unfortunately, I also found a lump in my breast. LADIES PLEASE REFRAIN FROM TAKING THIS GARBAGE . It is not worth surgery, chemo, radiation, or the lifelong worry of dying from cancer."

"I’ve been taking Loryna for approximately 4 months, within the first week I had horrible mood swings, almost like there was a monkey on my back at all times. I have also been dealing with headaches almost daily since I started these pills so excedrine is always nearby. I thought I would give my body time to adjust to the new hormones but to no avail. I have absolutely no energy and want to sleep all day and have no issues sleeping at night. I have been on birth control for roughly 19 years and have never experienced this with any other birth control before. So now on to figure out what avenue to go down next."

"I have used this for about 6 months now. It definitely helped with making my periods lighter and a lot less painful. They went from being irregular and lasting 7 or more days to only lasting about 4 days with barely any cramps. The only downside of this is that it defiantly affected my mood and I’ve felt more anxious and depressed since being on this, so I will be switching to a different brand."

"I've been taking Loyrna for 6 months now and I'm 90% positive this is what is making me feel nauseous. I've been eating healthy and even try taking my bc with food but everyday I'm so nauseous to the point where I barely want to eat and the smell of food makes me want to get sick. I'm switching back to Lo Loestrin Fe . It did help my acne but it isn't worth it!"

"I was on Loryna for about a year and a half! I started taking it because of extremely painful periods and as a form of protection. Before, I would have to stay home for the first three days of my period because the cramps would be so bad that I couldn’t move and I’d cry for most of the day and sometimes vomit. Taking pain meds did not help. After going on Loryna, the cramps didn’t get that much better. But I was at least able to go places and they only lasted about a day and a half. I was also able to get more relief through pain meds. So it did make it more bearable and I also had no pregnancy scares so that’s good! But I also became extremely emotional at all times, as in crying at basically everything, so that was kinda annoying. I didn’t experience any other side effects though. I ultimately had to go off it because I just couldn’t remember to take it every day lol"

"Since they discontinued vestura, they switched me ( without my prior knowledge) to Loryna. My anxiety is higher and I have about 5-8 pounds of water weight/bloat that I can't get rid of. I'm no saint with eating but I can usually reduce calories and be back at my normal weight- not now. I'm calling my doctor today; I've been on it three months and it hasn't gotten any better."

"I was taking Nikki for almost a year and was having a great luck. Less PMS, little to no bleeding every month, no acne, much less migraines. Pharmacy switched me to Loryna and my migraines began almost immediately. I now have 10 migraines a month, fatigue, PMS and major bleeding. I am now struggling to find a pharmacy that carries Nikki tabs. I have had to start taking migraine prevention pills."

"I have been on Loryna (yaz generic) for 5 months now and have had nothing but a great experience. I lost weight with this pill, had my PMDD disappear, and have had ZERO side effects. It’s helped me immensely without even knowing I needed it. Please don’t let any review of this pill scare you away. It may not work for everyone but it’s definitely worth a shot if your provider prescribes it for you."

"I started Loryna about 3 and a half weeks ago. I was preparing for an IVF embryo transfer. I wanted to select Yaz as the birth control to prepare for my transfer, but learned Yaz is no longer on the market. This should have been my first clue that a generic form of a drug that was off the market might still not be safe. I started taking Lornya. About a week and a half of taking it, I felt a pain in my calf. The pain intensified to the point I could hardly walk. I decided to check on this and it was found that I formed a blood clot behind my knee. I was advised to stop Loryna immediately. I now have to take 2 shots a day of blood thinners for 3 to 6 months. I also think my IVF will be cancelled because of this. No history of blood clots."

"I will start this off by saying everyone's body is different and I am thrilled for the people this drug worked for! However, that was not the case for me. Switched from Blisovi to Yaz and finally to Loryna due to insurance issues, and have never felt worse than I have while on Loryna. While taking this drug, I experienced depression, hypomanic episodes, crying spells throughout the day, decreased sex drive, and really just not liking the world. I know it takes a while to adjust, but after only 1 week on this pill I have thrown my entire supply in the trashcan. Take this review with a grain of salt and don't be scared to try it, but if you start experiencing PMS symptoms all day every day just throw them away, not worth it when there are so many other options out there. Goodluck guys."

"After taking Loryna, I was diagnosed with blood clots on my lungs, causing a pulmonary embolism. This caused my heart to go into overdrive. I had shortness of breath, dizziness, nausea, and chest pain. I was in the hospital for 3 days and now on blood thinners for 6 months minimum. I just got home today."

"I have been on Loryna for 6 years now. I also have been on birth control since I was 17 and now 26, with no breaks. I have no periods ever or spotting. My face is clear normally. No weight gain at all, I lose weight more than gain. I have read mixed reviews about this birth control, it can be good or bad. I have had no problems with the pill unless I forget to take it one day then I may breakout with pimples. I enjoy this birth control due to no problems. I recommend trying it, if it does not work get off of it. Most birth controls are not good for you anyways its not healthy, but being a woman we all need it for many different reasons."

"So I started bc yesterday... no joke I'm hormonal as heck! Even typing this makes me want to cry. I mean I'm a small woman 21, 4"11 and I kind of expected to be like this. My doctor said it tricks my brain into thinking its preagnant so that certain part of my body stop working. Like in this case the inflammation that causes my deadly cramps. Now I'm new to this whole birth control but I think its normal to feel sad and gain weight and all that because of what women go through during pregnancy so though it makes me feel super tired its kind of a good thing cause get this, I'm an insomniac haha. These mood swings are laughable - when I catch myself crying because I didn't share my sandwhich with my two dogs. Long story short I'm hoping this works"

"I was on Yaz for about a year and decided to try the generic because of the cost of Yaz (about $60 a month, but had to pay $180 upfront for 90 day prescriptions). They gave me Loryna and I've only been on it for 3 weeks and I'm feeling miserable! I have extreme fatigue, irritability, moodiness and a little breast pain. I know they say to give the pill 2-3 months to work but I don't know if I can handle another 2 more months of these emotions. I've tried A LOT of generic bc pills in the last 5 years since they discontinued the one I was on and I've had problems on all of them. Sometimes those generic "inactive" or "filler" ingredients really do have an impact, be careful and wary of your side effects!! I'm going back on the brand Yaz."

"I was on the implant for 3 years after getting diagnosed with PCOS. I bled constantly. I had a horrible mood, acne etc. My OBGYN uses this for “her PCOS girls” and pretty much has had success with all. This pill has changed my life. Anyone experiencing PCOS, look into L."

"First of all this pill will make u think you are pregnant by giving you all the symptoms of pregnancy. I had breakthrough bleeding for over a week and I just today stopped taking this birth control because of it. It made me depressed again. It made me uncontrollably mad for no reason I just can’t control my anger. So time to switch to a different one."

"Loryna cleared up my acne and made me gain 5 pounds. However the worst side affect is at the start of the first few pills of the new pack I end up waking up in the middle of the night and projectile vomiting. The vomiting isn’t worth it. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else trying this medicine."

"I have taken two other kinds of birthcontrol that gave me negative side effects so decided to switch to Loryna which worst decision of my life! The first week I had terrible nausea and couldn’t eat anything and I have also been dealing with depression, bad mood swings, low energy, headaches, and irritability. It did make me lose weight but there’s no way I’m staying on it due to all of the other side effects. If you’ve had issues with other kinds, this is ten times worse."

"I’ve been on BC before but had issues with depression. I tried Loryna and am 2 months in and can’t take it anymore! I have had headaches, probably gained weight, increased hunger, depression worse than I’ve ever experienced- crying over absolutely nothing off and on the first month then it stopped for a few weeks and it’s back worse than ever with intense mood swings! I have had brain fog, fatigue, and the mood swings/irritability that happened in the 2nd month have affected my life and relationships! I feel unable to control my emotions and I’m sure I seem crazy to the guy I recently started seeing! I hope this pill hasn’t ruined my relationship but I know it’s made me a crying, irritated, bloated lunatic! I’ve worked hard to be an easy going, emotionally stable adult but this pill makes me feel like I’m 2 sheets to the wind ugly crying and angry like I’m on a whisky bender. I don’t even drink anymore. I do not recommend!"
