"With this birth control Loryna I had only taken it for two weeks. If that doesn’t tell you anything I don’t know what does. I’m diagnosed with endometriosis which means I’m always at a high risk for cramping, blood clots and all that jazz. I was on Sprintec for a year and it just wasn’t right for me. My doctor had prescribed me Loryna and I’ve never felt more like a crazy person in my life!! As soon as I started taking it I realized a change in my moods and how I acted. I had horrible anxiety and depression for as long as I was on it!! This pill I do not recommend what so ever!"

"I have been on four different birth control pills in the past 2 years. I got on Loryna about 6 months ago, and absolutely love it. It has completely gotten rid of my acne, and my periods are only 2 days now, with very little/ almost no cramps or pain. I used to have terrible breakouts, and nothing would prevent or help them. This birth control cleared my skin up the 2nd week I was on it, and I have had maybe a few zits here and there (3 or 4) but they usually go away right away. Other birth control pills gave me mood swings, messed with my periods, or made my acne worse. So glad when I switched to a new doctor, she put me on this. It is the best!"

"I was on Loryna for the last 2 years. For the first year I really had no issues at all. My period were super light only 3 days at a time. My skin cleared up a bit and I only had the occasional break out. However this definitely gave me a lot of anxiety, my family noticed and so did my boyfriend. More recently I began to have panic attacks so I decided to stop. Overall this worked effectively for me for awhile and I really had no issues for a long time."

"I had very bad PMDD and Loryna cleared all my symptoms including; awful headaches, acne, severe mood swings, literally the whole package. I've been on it for three years and it has been great. I am also sexually active and have had no scares. I start my pill pack on a Tuesday and I never have my period on a weekend. It's amazing!"

"I was on this for less than 2 years. It cleared my acne and had no bad side effects until about a year and a half in. I couldn’t breathe and had horrible chest pain. Couldn’t walk 2 minutes without having to sit down and catch my breath. I am 21 years old and have never had a kid or miscarriage. It formed a saddle pulmonary embolism in my lungs and I was in the ICU. I was told I would have died if I would’ve gone in a day later. I am now having to take a life threatening blood thinner 2x a day. Don’t take Loryna."

"The nausea is intolerable. I’ve tried everything, taking with food, taking it at bedtime. It makes me feel so sick. I’ve had to take a pregnancy test twice because it feels exactly like being pregnant."

"This has been the worst pill. I don’t recommend this. I had bad acne, horrible pains in my stomach, arms. My head pounded continuously and my moods were horrible. I was only on it for three weeks and I felt like awful"

"I’ve been on this birth control for a little over a year now. It has balanced my mood, the placebo pills give me a short & light period usually 4 days long, it cleared up my acne quite a bit, with the exception of the week before I bleed, I’ll get a minor breakout. For the 14 months I’ve been on Loryna, 7 of those months I had irregular spotting every other month or so. I did not experience any body soreness that I’ve experienced on other BC pills, no sore breasts or sore muscles. I also did not experience any nausea on this BC."

"I've gained 20 pounds in the 5 months I've been on this, I cry and am depressed and finding myself working extra hard to do activities that I normally love. I have never had recurring yeast infections and have to treat them once a month now. I also lost my sex drive and I suddenly have really bad melasma. I am stopping immediately and hopefully notice some improvement soon. Plus side to this was short and light periods but after the first 2 months zi had random spotting every month."

"I started this birth control a little over two months ago, and let me just say there are definitely side effects but all GOOD!! I never had horrible skin but since I began taking this my skin is more clear than ever. Even some facial hair has stopped growing! All my co workers rave about how great my skin is. As far as other side effects the first few days I was very tired and slight headache but THAT'S IT!! And it went away after the first week absolutely no side effects! I was so nervous about starting this birth control as I have never taken birth control and reading these reviews scared me. Also there is no change in my sex drive and no vaginal dryness! I get married in a few months and I’m so happy the first birth control I’ve tried is actually perfect for my body!"

"I switched from tri-sprintec to Loryna. I was originally placed on birth control for hormonal acne, which proved to be a life saver. However, I switched to Loryna and after the first month, have not gotten a period in close to three months. Unsure if this is common, but the lack of period and increased anxiety while on this medication makes me want to switch back for peace of mind."

"I just started my second pack and i am pleased so far with the product. It seems like, based on all the other reviews, this bc is either going to be excellent for you or a nightmare. Luckily, i seem to responding well. I wont lie, the first week was terrible but i knew it would be since i was switching from gildess. The first day was ok, second day i was angry third day everything made me cry, i litterally cried all day long, next day i was tired, then i was pissed again and then my hormones finally calmed down. Ive noticed my acne and blackheads have cleared up significantly, my appetite is under control and my moods are more even. I am having a small amount of breakthrough bleeding which is to be expected on a new bc pill."

"This is my first time on BC, I am 19 and it has worked really well so far! I have had unprotected sex a few times and no surprises yet! I did have mood swings the first week I was on it, I cried at literally almost anything, but I think that was just my body getting used to it because I haven’t had any since. The second pack my acne cleared up a little bit and I am now almost done with my third pack and my acne is flaring up again but I hope it will go away altogether within the next 3 packs - that’s what most reviews I’ve seen says that it takes about 6 months. Reading the reviews before I began this pill made me very scared but this pill has worked very well for me!"

"I started using birth control for heavy periods senior year of high school. I first used enkysence and it gave me bad nausea and horrible acne. I switched to this and I am on my fourth pack. It keeps my periods lighter and doesn't make me break out. The only problem I have had is if I don't take it within two hours of the time I take it everyday I will start having light bleeding. I don't get nausea and only had mood swings the first week."

"I started using Loryna my senior year of high school, and since then it has only helped me. I had painful cystic acne that elevated when stressed, but being on loryna slowly made it go away. I never had cramps, only really bad back pain before Loryna. Which went away after I started taking it. It eventually made my period go from moderate-heavy to spotting-light. I experienced no weight gain, but I am quite active (sports or gym 3x a week and lots of walking) and I eat very balanced. I never realized until I started taking Loryna that I had PMDD. Before, I was extremely suicidal, depressed, and manic before and during my period. It completely made it go away. I always tell people that birth control saved my life because in some ways it actually did. I had no idea what was wrong with me, but once it went away I finally realized that I could never go back to the pre-Loryna days. As far as birth control goes I have never had a pregnancy scare."

"This pill is just absolutely awful. When I got on it I had been told that it was the same as my last pill, so I figured it would be okay, but it really wasn’t. On Mylan I’m moody, I can admit that. On Loryna, I’m constantly angry and annoyed. I wake up in the morning always mad, and I hate it. This pill made it so much worse. On my other pill, my period was a nice respectable 5 days, but on this one it lasted well over two weeks. I haven’t noticed any other ill side effects, but most everyone who I have seen seems to hate this pill. If you have the choice, I wouldn’t recommend this at all. I was on Mylan for maybe a year before they switched me to this one, and I have to say if they give it to me again, I’m stopping birth control all together. On my last pill I was fine. If it works for you, great. However, I can’t say it’s the same for me. If it’s “the same” it shouldn’t give you awful side affects. I can’t wait 5 more months."

"I have been taking Yaz for about 10 years, a few years ago I was given Loryna as a generic for Yaz and didn't think anything of it assuming it should be the same. While taking the generic I experienced extremely heavy periods that would last at least a week with a lot of blood clots. Typically my period is extremely light/no blood clots and lasts 3 days. I became very emotional and had drastic mood swings. Eventually my heavy period came and then didn't leave for an entire month, this made me realize the only thing that had changed was switching to generic Yaz. Once I switched back to yaz all these symptoms stopped. I ONLY get Yaz now."

"Horrible!! I’ve been on yaz for 7 months. Aside from breast tenderness, I was fine. Pharmacy suddenly started charging 4x what I had been paying, & gave me Loryna. I have experienced the worst gastro-sensitivity, stomach always feels upset. I’ve been dealing with dark gooey, light but constant period for 2 weeks now. I’ve had a constant tension headache, & a couple of vomit inducing migraines which I haven’t experienced in a decade. I feel so extremely tired, my fiancé keeps asking if I’m ok because I’m taking naps. I’ve been on this for almost 3 months now & it has taken me some time to connect the dots, but after research & talking to my doctor it’s def this medication. Switching back to yaz."

"WEIRD - was on Yaz (brand name) for over a year and had absolutely no issues. Switched to the generic version and was given Loryna. Quickly I started to get TONS of freckles all over my body (very odd side effect). In addition my legs started swelling. It is different than Yaz!"

"My experience on Loryna has not been a good one. I originally had been on Yaz and Beyaz and had no issues at all! I thought they were miracle pills! I'm in my late thirties and wanted a birth control to help with my moods, breakouts, and period. Unfortunately, Loryna did the opposite for me. After five months of taking it I have decided to stop. I had bleeding for 2 months straight, acne breakouts on my chest, back, and face. And a ton of pain! As if my uterus was contracting constantly. I finished my last pack/pill and have stopped. Within 2 days of stopping, the bleeding stopped, the pain is gone and my skin is clearing up. I'm not sure why this happened but I'm finding generic birth controls are different from the brand. It's frustrating!"

"Before loyrna I was on so many different bc I tried Lo Lo Estrin FE, Sprintec, etc. I struggled with BAD hormonal acne and mood swings. My doctor prescribed Loryna for my acne and I was hopeful. The first three months were pretty nauseating and I lost weight but at about 6 months I started to notice a difference in my skin and mood as well as a big increase in my breast size. I’m currently a year into it and my skin is PERFECT, my periods are short and so manageable, my moods are much more leveled out and I feel great. I had a great experience with this bc and don’t be scared to try it!!"

"I’ve been on Loryna for 1 and half months and stopped taking it. The first month it was okay besides breast tenderness. I have irregular periods so I went on birth control to regulate them. But by the second week of my second pack I felt extreme high anxiety. I’m not normally an anxious person, you know some anxiety here and there. But the amount of anxiety I was experiencing was not like usual. I was waking up almost every night in panic attacks and tossing and turning not being able to fall asleep. Then it started throughout the day, me being anxious just watching a movie, my mind would be racing. I remember not really being able to pin point what my anxiety was from but I woke up one morning and realized the new thing I’ve been taking is birth control. So I stopped it and noticed throughout the day already it has been much better with anxiety. Sometimes in the night I’m still anxious but I just stopped it a day ago.I don’t recommend this pill."

"Nurx switched me from Nikki to Loryna with no warning, due to a lack of availability of Nikki. Ok, I decided I would try the Loryna. What a mistake. I have never experienced such bad anxiety and headaches in my life. I do not recommend switching!"

"Absolutely horrible for me. I took this for over a year, and it gave me so much acne in the beginning. Horrible mood swings. This medication filled me with pure anger!! Loryna COMPLETELY destroyed my sex drive the entire time I was on it. It made my skin EXTREMELY oily. I hate this medication and I'm never taking it again."

"It took me a few tries to get the right birth control for my body and once I found Loryna, it was perfect! All my acne disappeared, I went from an AA cup to a B cup in bra size, and it made my painful and irregular periods go away and make them bearable and regular. I never had any mood swings, just normal PMS like everyone has. Slight weight gain but it went away after a month. This pill also goes well with anxiety medication I take so I highly recommend it."
