This product has been shown to be effective for vaccination of healthy dogs 8 weeks of age or older against B. bronchiseptica. Duration of immunity has not been established. For more information regarding efficacy and safety data, see productdata.aphis.usda.gov.

Vanguard B Injectable is a nonadjuvanted antigenic extract prepared from the cells of Bordetella bronchiseptica.

Directions For Use

Shake well. Healthy dogs should receive two 1-mL doses administered 2-4 weeks apart. This product should be administered by subcutaneous injection only. Historically, annual revaccination with this product was recommended. The need for annual booster vaccinations has not been established for this product; consultation with a veterinarian or the manufacturer is recommended.

Precautions

Store at 2°-8°C. Prolonged exposure to higher temperatures and/or direct sunlight may adversely affect potency. Do not freeze. Contains thimerosal as preservative. This product has not been tested in pregnant animals. Transient local irritation at the site of injection, though rare, may occur subsequent to use of this product. In case of anaphylactoid reaction, administer epinephrine. Do not mix with other products. In case of human exposure, contact a physician.

This product has been shown to be efficacious in healthy animals. A protective immune response may not be elicited if animals are incubating an infectious disease, are malnourished or parasitized, are stressed due to shipment or environmental conditions, are otherwise immunocompromised, or the vaccine is not administered in accordance with label directions.
