TrichGuard V5L HB Indications
For vaccination of healthy cattle as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by Campylobacter fetus, Leptospira canicola, L. grippotyphosa, L. hardjo, L. icterohaemorrhagiae and L. pomona, for prevention of urinary shedding of L. borgpetersenii serovar Hardjo in heifers 10 months of age or older, and as an aid in the reduction of shedding of Tritrichomonas foetus. Vaccinated animals subsequently exposed to L. borgpetersenii serovar Hardjo (type hardjo-bovis) have been shown to clear renal infections within 8 weeks of exposure.
Dosage and AdministrationShake well before using. Inject one 5 mL dose subcutaneously under aseptic conditions, in the neck or behind the shoulder. A second dose should be administered 2 to 4 weeks later. The last injection should precede the breeding season by 4 weeks. Revaccinate annually.
PrecautionsStore in the dark at 35 - 45°F (2 - 7°C). Avoid freezing. Use entire contents when first opened. Do not vaccinate within 60 days before slaughter. Transient swelling may occur at injection site. In case of anaphylactoid reaction, administer epinephrine.
Preservatives: Neomycin, polymyxin B, and thimerosal.
