MIXING DIRECTIONS
Enclosed in each bag is a cup that holds approximately 4 ounces of dry milk replacer powder. Mix milk replacer powder with warm (115-120°F) water. Weigh milk replacer for best accuracy.
Add 3 enclosed cups of milk replacer powder (12 oz of powder total) to 2 quarts of warm water (115-120°F) and mix thoroughly.
Cool milk replacer solution to body temperature (102°-105°F) before feeding. Always offer clean free-choice water.
FEEDING DIRECTIONS
For large breed calves (120 lbs. bodyweight) Feed 2.3 quarts (fill 2 quart bottle to the rim) of milk replacer solution twice daily per calf. Adjust feeding rates for small breed calves.
CALF CARE RECOMMENDATIONS
1) Feed colostrum within 2 hours of birth and again 12 hours later. Begin feeding a premium quality milk replacer on day 2 and transition to this milk replacer at 3 weeks of age.
2) Begin feeding calf starter free-choice in the first week. Feed a small amount at first and replace daily.
3) Provide fresh, clean water at all times.
4) Keep electrolytes on hand to help with rehydration.
5) Healthy calves can be weaned from milk replacer successfully when intake of calf starter reaches 2 pounds daily for 3 consecutive days.
6) Environmental conditions may alter feeding rate. See your nutritionist or veterinarian for details.
7) Begin feeding hay after weaning.
The benefits of a comprehensive calf care program can result in more productive and profitable livestock.
