ENCEPHALOMYELITIS - INFLUENZA VACCINE, EASTERN & WESTERN, KILLED VIRUS, TETANUS TOXOID

A combination of inactivated, concentrated, adjuvanted, tissue culture origin equine encephalomyelitis viruses (Eastern and Western), equine influenza virus type H3N8 strains EIV A/eq/Florida/RW/13, EIV A/Equine 2/Kentucky/02 American, EIV A/eq/Richmond/1/07 and tetanus toxoid.

Prestige 4 Indications

This product has been shown to be effective for the vaccination of healthy horses 6 months of age or older against Eastern and Western encephalomyelitis viruses, EIV and tetanus. Duration of immunity has been shown at 6 months for EIV. For more information regarding safety and efficacy data, go to productdata.aphis.usda.gov. This product has been shown to decrease virus shedding of EIV. Foals nursing immune-dams should be vaccinated when maternal antibody levels will allow active immunization.

DOSE: For primary vaccination aseptically administer 1 mL intramuscularly, repeat with a single dose in 3 - 4 weeks. Historically, annual revaccination with this product has been recommended. The need for annual booster vaccination has not been established for this product. A booster dose can be administered at more frequent intervals based upon individual horse or farm disease risk assessment or any time epidemic conditions exist or are reported. Consult your veterinarian.

CAUTIONS: Store at 2°- 8°C (35°- 46°F). Shake well before using. Use entire contents when first opened. Do not mix with other products. This product has not been tested in pregnant animals. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. Inject deep into the muscle only. Local reactions may occur at the injection sites in vaccinates, and most of these reactions resolve in 3 to 7 days following vaccination. Systemic reactions may also occur in animals following vaccination. If allergic reaction occurs, treat with epinephrine. Care should be used to avoid injecting your own fingers, hands, or other body parts. Accidental injection can cause serious local reactions. In case of human exposure, contact a physician.

ANTIBIOTIC: Gentamicin.

PRESERVATIVE: Thimerosal.
