Preodine Indications
For use in dairy cattle. Preodine reduces new udder infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus agalactiae when used as post-milking teat dip. Pre-milking dipping with Preodine, when used in conjunction with its application as a post-milking teat dip, reduces new udder infections caused by Streptococcus uberis.
Active Ingredients
Titratable Iodine - 0.5% (w/v)
Directions For Use
Use at full strength. Do not dilute. PRE-DIPPING: Before milking, dip each teat with Preodine. After 15 to 30 seconds, dry each teat thoroughly with a single-service towel. If the udder and teats are heavily soiled, wash with a sanitizing solution and dry before application of Preodine. POST-DIPPING: Immediately after milking, dip each teat with Preodine. Allow teats to air-dry. Do not wipe. A fresh solution should always be used at each milking. The teat dip cup should be emptied, cleaned and rinsed with potable water after each milking session or when solution becomes contaminated during milking. Do not pour remaining solution from dip cup back into original container.
Warnings
May be harmful or fatal if swallowed. Do not take internally. Protect eyes and skin when handling. Wash hands thoroughly after handling product. Avoid contact with food. Do not use for cleaning and/or sanitizing milking equipment. Do not mix with any other chemical product. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.Cautions: Before starting to use Preodine, consult your veterinarian if cow’s teats are sore or chapped. If outside temperature is below freezing, allow to air-dry on the teat before the cow leaves the parlour to prevent freezing.
Storage Conditions: Store this product in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight and heat to avoid deterioration. Keep containers closed to prevent contamination. Keep from freezing.
First Aid:
Eyes - Flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.
Ingestion - Drink large volumes of water or milk. Do not induce vomiting. Contact a physician immediately.
Skin - Flush affected area thoroughly with water.
