Make Your Own Chlorhexidine ShampooThis treatment applies to the following species:
Directions For UseTo make a 1% chlorhexidine shampoo, dilute 6 oz of Davis 20% CHLORHEXIDINE GLUCONATE in one gallon of non-medicated shampoo and mix thoroughly. Wet animal's coat completely with warm water. Do not get shampoo into eyes. Apply shampoo on head and ears, then lather. Repeat procedure with neck, chest, middle and hind quarter, finishing legs last. Allow pet to stand for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse pet thoroughly. For best results, repeat procedure.
After bathing, a chlorhexidine rinse may result in greater residual activity. To make a .50% solution, dilute 3 oz of Davis 20% CHLORHEXIDINE GLUCONATE in one gallon of water. Mix thoroughly.
To make a 2% chlorhexidine solution, dilute 12 oz of Davis 20% CHLORHEXIDINE GLUCONATE to one gallon of water.
Use under the direction of a licensed veterinarian.
To reconstitute MAKE YOUR OWN CHLORHEXIDINE SHAMPOO follow these four steps:
1) Pour 1 gallon Davis Gold Shampoo into 5 gallon bucket.
2) Pour 32 ounces Davis 20% Chlorhexidine Gluconate into the 5 gallon bucket and stir.
3) Pour 3 ounces Fresh & Clean Fragrance into bucket and stir.
4) Fill the rest of the bucket with water and stir well before using.
Precautionary StatementsProduct may be harmful if swallowed and irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin.
First Aid: If Swallowed: Contact a physician immediately. Drink two glasses of water and induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
If In Eyes or On Skin: Flush affected areas immediately with plenty of water. If irritation persists, consult a physician. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.
If Inhaled: Remove to fresh air. Give artificial respiration and/or oxygen ff breathing is difficult.
