DESCRIPTION

Each vial contains pregnant mare serum gonadotrophin 5,000 I.U. supplied as a freeze-dried powder with sterile diluent for reconstitution. Due to its FSH-activity, serum gonadotrophin stimulates the growth of the interstitial cells of the ovary as well as the growth and maturation of the follicles.

INDICATIONS

As an aid to stimulate follicle development in functional ovaries in Cattle, Pig and Sheep.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Folligon must be reconstituted with Folligon Sterile Diluent before use.

RECONSTITUTION

Use a sterile syringe. Add 5 ml of the sterile diluent for injection to the vial containing the dry powder. Shake the vial gently to dissolve the powder and to obtain a clear solution. Transfer the solution back into the bottle of diluent, so that a total of 25 mL of diluent is added to the powder, to obtain a solution containing 200 I.U./ml of PMSG. After reconstitution, the solution should be used immediately or within 24 hours.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Cattle: 1000 to 1250 I.U.

Pigs: 750 to 1250 I.U.

Sheep: 300 to 1000 I.U. The doses administered should be adapted to the breed (lower doses in prolific compared to non-prolific breeds) and to the season (higher doses should be given to non cycling compared to cycling sheep).

Administer intramuscularly, intravenously, or subcutaneously. Use as directed by a veterinarian.

WARNINGS

Treated animals must not be slaughtered for use in food for at least 7 days after the latest treatment with this drug.

Keep out of reach of children.

If accidental skin contact occurs, wash the affected area immediately with soap and water. In case of accidental self-injection, seek medical attention.

Wash hands immediately and thoroughly after applying Folligon or wear gloves.

CAUTIONS

In case of anaphylactic reaction administer epinephrine.

STORAGE

Store between 2-8°C. Protect from light and from freezing. After reconstitution the product may be stored between 2-8°C for no longer than 24 hours.

HOW SUPPLIED

One 5 mL vial containing 5,000 I.U. of PMSG and one vial containing 25 ml of sterile diluent.
