Directions For Use
SALMONELLA TYPHIMURIUM VACCINE
For use in animals only
Recommendation for use:
This vaccine is recommended as an aid in the reduction of Salmonella Typhimurium, Salmonella Enteritidis and Salmonella Heidelberg colonization of the internal organs of young growing chickens and as an aid in the reduction of Salmonella Enteritidis colonization of the crop and digestive tract, including the ceca.
The ovaries and oviducts were not evaluated and therefore this vaccine is not intended for use in sexually mature birds.
Vaccinate at 1 day of age by coarse spray (aerosol) application.
Revaccinate at 14 days of age in the drinking water.
Drinking water administration:
Remove disinfectant, sanitizers and antimicrobials from the drinking water 24 hours before and 24 hours after vaccination. Mix vaccine in clean water which contains no sanitizing agents or antimicrobials. Use 50 liters of water for each 5000 birds. Provide ample space for all birds to drink easily. Water containing vaccine should be consumed in 2 hours or less. To assure all birds drink, withhold water for 1 hour prior to vaccination.
Coarse spray (aerosol) administration:
Rehydrate the vaccine with cool distilled water which contains no disinfectant, sanitizers or antimicrobials in an amount sufficient enough to vaccinate the required number of birds according to the directions of the spray cabinet or field sprayer manufacturer. Field spray application should be used only in houses that can be tightly closed. Close all windows, doors, vents, etc. and turn off fans. Spray each 5000 doses of vaccine directly into the faces of 5000 birds. Leave house closed for at least 15 minutes after spraying. Always use appropriate personal protective equipment during vaccination.
Store at 2° to 8°C (35° to 46°F).
Vaccinate only healthy birds.
A small percentage of vaccinated birds may react to pullorum-typhoid tests. It is recommended that vaccination occur after testing is complete.
Any potential interference with concurrent vaccinations with other poultry vaccines has not been evaluated.
Use entire contents when a vial is first opened.
Inactivate unused contents before disposal.
Do not mix with other products, except as specified on the label.
Keep permanent vaccination records, including vaccine serial number.
Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter.
Care should be taken to avoid contaminating hands, eyes and clothing with the vaccine.
