Side effects requiring immediate medical attention
Along with its needed effects, naftifine topical may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking naftifine topical:
- Burning, stinging, itching, redness, or irritation of the skin
Incidence not known
- Blistering or crusting of the skin
- softening of the skin
Side effects not requiring immediate medical attention
Some side effects of naftifine topical may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects.

Common (1% to 10%): Burning/stinging, dryness, erythema, pruritus/itching
Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Rash, skin tenderness
Postmarketing reports: Redness/irritation, erythema/redness, irritation, burning, blisters, crusting, dryness, mild pruritus/itching, rash[Ref]
Common (1% to 10%): Local irritation, application site reactions
Postmarketing reports: Inflammation, maceration, swelling, serous drainage, pain
Postmarketing reports: Leukopenia, agranulocytosis
Postmarketing reports: Headache, dizziness, burning sensation
