Applies to carbetapentane / pseudoephedrine: oral suspension extended release, oral tablet chewable
Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking carbetapentane / pseudoephedrine: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using carbetapentane and pseudoephedrine and call your doctor at once if you have:
pounding heartbeats or fluttering in your chest;
pale skin, weakness;
severe dizziness, vision problems, hallucinations;
painful or difficult urination; or
a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out.
Common side effects may include:
nausea, loss of appetite;
headache, dizziness, drowsiness;
constipation, diarrhea; or
feeling nervous or excited.

Cardiovascular side effects have included tachycardia, palpitations, pallor, arrhythmias, and cardiovascular collapse with hypotension.[Ref]
Gastrointestinal side effects have included nausea.[Ref]
Nervous system side effects have included headache, dizziness, fear, anxiety, tenseness, hallucinations, tremor, weakness, insomnia, convulsions, and central nervous system depression.[Ref]
Respiratory side effects have included respiratory difficulty.[Ref]
Genitourinary side effects have included dysuria and urinary retention.[Ref]
