What is Lotrimin Ultra Athlete's Foot?
Lotrimin Ultra Athlete's Foot (for the skin) is used in adults and children at least 12 years old to treat fungal skin infections such as athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm.
Lotrimin Ultra Athlete's Foot (for the skin) also helps relieve symptoms associated with fungal skin infections including itching, burning, cracking, and scaling.
Lotrimin Ultra Athlete's Foot may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Lotrimin Ultra Athlete's Foot side effects
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using Lotrimin Ultra Athlete's Foot and call your doctor at once if you have:

severe burning, stinging, or irritation after using Lotrimin Ultra Athlete's Foot; or
-
any new or worsening skin symptoms.
Common side effects of Lotrimin Ultra Athlete's Foot may include:

stinging, burning, or itching where the medicine was applied.

Before taking this medicine
You should not use Lotrimin Ultra Athlete's Foot if you are allergic to it.
Do not use Lotrimin Ultra Athlete's Foot for the nails, scalp, in or near the mouth or eye, or vaginal yeast infections.
Ask a doctor or pharmacist before using Lotrimin Ultra Athlete's Foot if you have health problems or use other medications, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Do not give this medicine to a child younger than 12 years old without medical advice.
How should I use Lotrimin Ultra Athlete's Foot?
Use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger amounts or for longer than recommended.
Do not take by mouth. Topical medicine is for use only on the skin.
Depending on what it is used for, Lotrimin Ultra Athlete's Foot is usually applied 1 to 2 times a day. Do not use this medicine more often or longer than directed. Your doctor can help determine how long you should use this medicine.
Wash your hands before and after applying this medicine. Use a mild soap to clean the skin area to be treated. Apply the medicine once the affected area is completely dry.
If you are using Lotrimin Ultra Athlete's Foot on your feet, apply the medicine to all areas including between and around your toes.
Keep using this medicine even if your symptoms quickly improve. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cleared.
Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve, or if they get worse.
Do not use Lotrimin Ultra Athlete's Foot to treat any condition that has not been checked by your doctor.
Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Apply the medicine as soon as you can, but skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not apply two doses at one time.
What happens if I overdose?
Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222 if anyone has accidentally swallowed the medicine.
What should I avoid while using Lotrimin Ultra Athlete's Foot?
Do not get Lotrimin Ultra Athlete's Foot in your eyes. If contact does occur, rinse with water.
Avoid using other medications on the areas you applied Lotrimin Ultra Athlete's Foot, unless your doctor tells you to.
Avoid wearing tight-fitting shoes that do not allow air circulation. Change your shoes and socks at least once daily while treating athlete's foot.
What other drugs will affect Lotrimin Ultra Athlete's Foot?
Medicine used on the skin is not likely to be affected by other drugs you use, but many drugs can interact. Tell your doctor about all your current medicines, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
