Drug Interaction Report
4 potential interactions and/or warnings found for the following 2 drugs:
- Cibinqo (abrocitinib)
- dipyridamole
Interactions between your drugs
dipyridamole abrocitinib
Applies to: dipyridamole, Cibinqo (abrocitinib)
The use of dipyridamole during the first 3 months of treatment with abrocitinib is not recommended. Abrocitinib may cause serious bleeding complications and using it with medications that can affect platelet count or function such as dipyridamole may further increase this risk. This interaction does not apply to low dose aspirin (81 mg/day or less). Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact. You should seek immediate medical attention if you experience any unusual bleeding or bruising or have other signs and symptoms of bleeding such as dizziness; lightheadedness; red or black, tarry stools; coughing up or vomiting fresh or dried blood that looks like coffee grounds. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
dipyridamole food
Applies to: dipyridamole
Caffeine may interfere with the effects of dipyridamole in dilating the arteries. You should avoid caffeine-containing products for at least 24 hours before an imaging procedure involving dipyridamole given by injection. However, no special precaution is necessary if you are taking dipyridamole orally for maintenance.
abrocitinib food
Applies to: Cibinqo (abrocitinib)
Abrocitinib may be taken with or without food. Smoking during treatment with abrocitinib may increase your risk of serious cardiovascular events and of developing malignancies. Tell your doctor if you are a current or past smoker. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Get emergency help right away if you develop any symptoms of a heart attack or stroke during treatment with abrocitinib, including severe tightness, pain, pressure, or heaviness in your chest, neck, or jaw; weakness in one side of your body; slurred speech; shortness of breath or feeling lightheaded. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
dipyridamole food
Applies to: dipyridamole
Ask your doctor before using dipyridamole together with caffeine. Using these medications together can decrease the effects of dipyridamole. It is recommended that caffeine including caffeine be avoided for 12 to 24 hours before dipyridamole administration. You may need a dose adjustment or special test if you use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
