CONTRAINDICATED: Teriflunomide is the active metabolite of leflunomide and has a similar toxicity profile as the parent drug.
MANAGEMENT: Concomitant use of leflunomide and teriflunomide is considered contraindicated due to the potential for increased toxicities such as peripheral neuropathy, serious liver injury, and bone marrow suppression.

MANAGEMENT: Patients should be advised to avoid excessive alcohol use during leflunomide treatment.
