Signs and symptoms of an elevated heart rate may include a sensation of a racing or pounding heartbeat, chest pain, shortness of breath, or a heart rate greater than 100 beats per minute in an adult. Using amphetamine together with alcohol can increase the risk of cardiovascular side effects such as increased heart rate, chest pain, or blood pressure changes.
