Drug Interaction Report
1 potential interaction and/or warning found for the following 2 drugs:
- Kitabis Pak (tobramycin)
- torsemide
Interactions between your drugs
tobramycin torsemide
Applies to: Kitabis Pak (tobramycin), torsemide
Tobramycin can cause hearing loss, ringing in the ears, vertigo, and kidney problems, and combining it with certain diuretics like torsemide may increase the risks. Patients who may be particularly susceptible include the elderly and those who are dehydrated or have preexisting kidney disease. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact, or you may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
No alcohol/food interactions were found with the drugs in your list. However, this does not necessarily mean no food interactions exist. Always consult your healthcare provider.
