Eliquis is used in the treatment of prevention of thromboembolism in atrial fibrillation; deep vein thrombosis; pulmonary embolism; deep vein thrombosis prophylaxis after hip replacement surgery; deep vein thrombosis prophylaxis after knee replacement surgery (and more), and belongs to the drug class factor Xa inhibitors. There is no proven risk in humans during pregnancy. Eliquis 2.5 mg is not a controlled substance under the Controlled Substance Act (CSA).
