Usual Adult Dose for Bacterial Conjunctivitis
0.5% solution:
- Days 1 and 2: Instill 1 to 2 drops in the affected eye(s) every 2 hours while awake, up to 8 times a day.
- Days 3 through 7: Instill 1 to 2 drops in the affected eye(s) every 4 hours while awake, up to 4 times a day.
Use: For the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible strains of Corynebacterium species, Staphylococcus aureus, S epidermidis, Streptococcus pneumonia, Streptococcus (groups C/F), Streptococcus (group G), viridans group streptococci, Acinetobacter lwoffii, Haemophilus influenzae, Serratia marcescens
Usual Adult Dose for Corneal Ulcers
1.5% solution:
- Days 1 through 3: Instill 1 to 2 drops in the affected eye(s) every 30 minutes to 2 hours while awake and approximately 4 and 6 hours after retiring.
- Day 4 through treatment completion: Instill 1 to 2 drops in the affected eye(s) every 1 to 4 hours while awake.
Use: For the treatment of corneal ulcer due to susceptible strains of Corynebacterium species, S aureus, S epidermidis, S pneumonia, viridans group streptococci, S marcescens, Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Patient advice:
- Do not wear contact lenses if you have signs/symptoms of bacterial conjunctivitis or corneal ulcers.
- Avoid contaminating the applicator tip with material from the eye, fingers, or any other source.
- Stop this drug and seek medical attention immediately at the first sign of a rash or allergic reaction.
