Angiomax (bivalirudin) Disease Interactions
There are 2 disease interactions with Angiomax (bivalirudin):
Thrombin Inhibitors (Includes Angiomax) ↔ Active Bleeding
Severe Potential Hazard, High plausibility
Applies to: Bleeding, Coagulation Defect
The use of thrombin inhibitors is contraindicated in the presence of active major bleeding. Additionally, these drugs should be used with caution in patients with disease states associated with an increased risk of bleeding.
Bivalirudin (Includes Angiomax) ↔ Renal Impairment
Moderate Potential Hazard, Moderate plausibility
Applies to: Renal Dysfunction, hemodialysis
Clinical studies showed that the clearance of bivalirudin is reduced approximately 20% with moderate and severe renal impairment and is reduced about 80% in dialysis-dependent patients. The infusion dose of bivalirudin may need to be reduced, and anticoagulant status monitored in patients with renal impairment.
Angiomax (bivalirudin) drug Interactions
There are 185 drug interactions with Angiomax (bivalirudin)
Drug Interaction Classification

|Moderately clinically significant. Usually avoid combinations; use it only under special circumstances.|
|Minimally clinically significant. Minimize risk; assess risk and consider an alternative drug, take steps to circumvent the interaction risk and/or institute a monitoring plan.|
