Aprotinin Disease Interactions
There are 2 disease interactions with aprotinin.
Aprotinin (applies to aprotinin) hypersensitivity reaction
Moderate Potential Hazard, High plausibility. Applicable conditions: Allergies
Administration of aprotinin (following an initial test dose) can result in anaphylaxis. The risk of anaphylaxis is increased when re-exposure occurs within six months of initial aprotinin therapy. Therapy with aprotinin should be administered cautiously in patients with significant allergies to other drugs or substances, since they may be at increased risk of developing an allergic reaction to aprotinin.

Aprotinin (applies to aprotinin) renal dysfunction
Moderate Potential Hazard, Moderate plausibility.
The effect of renal impairment on the pharmacokinetic disposition of aprotinin has not been fully determined. During clinical trials, mild renal impairment did not substantially alter the elimination of aprotinin. However, aprotinin is primarily eliminated by the kidney and dosage reductions in patients with severe renal dysfunction may be necessary .
