Sumatriptan for Migraine "Thank God for Imitrex. The first tablet I took stopped the headache and didn't have any side effects the first time. The next time I took it, I felt shaky. The only side effect that I get from Imitrex is jaw pain. But at least my migraines are no longer in my back. Just make sure that if you are needing two 100 mg tablets a day for several days in a row and you still aren't getting relief, consider a preventive or have a backup. I don't have nearly as many headaches anymore."

Sumatriptan for Migraine "Because my migraines start while I am asleep, I do not get the 'lights' prior to onset. I start by having ringing in my ears around 11 p.m., then around 2:30 a.m., the pain starts. If I take a shot at that time, I can function during the day. If not, around 4 to 5 a.m., I awake with a full-blown, blind-in-one-eye migraine, and I cannot function for about 12 hours. Later, it feels like someone took a baseball bat to my head, and it hurts."

For Migraine "This turned my life around as a reliever, but I also use Sandomigran® (Pizotifen) 500 mcg, which I take 3 tablets once a day. I'd had migraines for close to 47 years, and they were getting worse, by day two to three, my family would need to take me to the ED because of excessive vomiting and pain, where a shot of pethidine and maxalon was required. By accident, from a family in-law, I found out about these medications. I haven't had a serious migraine since. I have found out that I don't get headaches, they are always going to be a migraine if I don't take this medication straight away. It took a long time to recognize that fact. Ten years later, I had an incidental finding of a calcified meningioma (benign brain tumor), my neurologist couldn't say if this was the cause of my migraines but doubted it. I have had my migraines from the age of three. No one in the 21st century should be suffering from debilitating migraines that wipe them from society for three plus days, 3-4 times a month."

Sumatriptan for Migraine "This worked really well. I've taken the pills, and they don't do anything for my chronic migraines. I did experience some mild tingling in my limbs a few minutes after and a weird warm, flushing feeling in my chest. The warm, flushing feeling in my chest came almost immediately after the injection. It didn't last long, and my heartbeat was normal. At least, it felt normal. Minor pain at the injection site, but no biggie. Overall, this little pen saved my workday and killed what usually would be a 24-48 hour migraine and ordeal!"

For Migraine "So I have suffered migraines for 35 years now, initially was on sumatriptan tabs only, didn't particularly work, so after much pleading with the GP in October, I finally saw a neuro. They gave me nortriptyline 25 mg for a week, then increased the dose to 50 mg and zomigtriptan dissolve 2.5 mg for when I get a migraine. So I was doing fantastic from October to January, no migraine and going from 3 a month on average for what seems a lifetime to nothing was amazing UNTIL January. I had two week-long ones and another early in February. Anyway, I saw the consultant yesterday, February 26th, was upped to 75 mg nortriptyline and given imigran injection to try. Sod's law developed one yesterday PM. So I took the first injection at 11:15 am and within an hour I felt better but not 100%, so I'm unsure what to think. I can manage my day but wearing my special glasses, and no throbbing but a teeny bit of pain. I hope with increasing the nortriptyline all will be well. XX"

Sumatriptan for Migraine "The medication itself works, which is the only positive thing I can say. This 'needleless' injection is so much more painful than any needle I've ever experienced. I'll be going back to real injections. My leg is still throbbing in pain 30 minutes later, and it took over 5 minutes to stop the bleeding! I've never had pain or bleeding with an Imitrex shot through a hypodermic needle. Who would choose this?"

For Migraine "After years of 'sick' headaches that nothing touched, my Dr. prescribed sumatriptan 100 mg. I resisted taking it until a couple of weeks ago when I finally couldn't stand my headache any longer. It made me very nauseous for about an hour, then the nausea and my headache were gone. This morning, I had to take it again. This time, I was nauseous for about 1 1/2 hours, and my whole face was sore. I don't know if it is worth it, even if it does get rid of the migraine."

For Migraine "I started off using the pills, but if my migraine had already made me vomit, the pills would not work. I have now switched to the injection and highly recommend it! I can feel the relief in minutes. I feel a little fuzzy and need to lay down right after the injection. The sleep is much needed, and I wake up pain-free and with no side effects. The injection does hurt a little, but nothing compared to the pain of a migraine."

For Migraine "Gets rid of the migraine but at the cost of making me incredibly tired, chest pain, arm pain, and increased heart rate."

Sumatriptan for Migraine "I've suffered from migraines since I was in the 3rd grade, and I am now 23. I take Topamax every night to try and control my headaches, but when I get a really bad one, I use the Sumavel. HATE HATE HATE needles. So this works for me very well. There is pain with the injection, but compared to the migraine, it's nothing. A little bleeding at the site and always a bruise. I can instantly feel the medicine working in my body, and within 5-7 minutes, my migraine is gone. It's my miracle."
