Norditropin (somatropin) "Although relatively more expensive than other options, it is the most convenient alternative for parents with Turner's Syndrome in pediatric use. Also, there is a possibility to perform the injection after the first 15-20 mins of sleep to avoid child's resistance of treatment 6 days/wk. Now crossing treatment year 3, growth charts continue demonstrating significant annual gains."

Omnitrope (somatropin) "My daughter has been on Omnitrope for less than a year. She has cried each night when we give her injections because the injection device administers the medication so slowly. We called the company and received a new pen injection device but are still having the same issue. The representative that I spoke with when I inquired about getting a new pen did say that our issue was a common complaint. We are in the process of switching to Norditropin."

"My 15 year old daughter has been self-administering somatropin (under the names Humatrope or Norditropin - dependent upon insurance provider choice) since the age of 8. Great results regarding height. Prognosis without this medicine was a max height of 4'8". She is now 5'2". She has had no complications or side effects. Her only complaint is that the increased long-bone growth has given her large feet (size 10) and very long fingers. I suppose that is a "plus" for those interested in playing the piano! "

Nutropin (somatropin) "The NuSpin pen itself is extremely painful. It shoots in so fast that it hurts. I wish they would fix this issue. We have chosen to use syringes and pull it out and administer it that way instead of using pen. Such a shame it doesn't come any other way. My daughter is 12 and super tough I can't imagine how bad it hurts someone younger."
