For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have suffered from RLS for a relatively short time, about 2 years, but it had gotten worse recently. My GP was going to put me on tablets, not sure which ones, but I have liver problems, so he suggested the rotigotine patch 1 mg. I have to say I was a bit skeptical at first, but after applying the patch, that night was the best night's sleep I'd had in a long time. The urge to constantly move my legs had gone. I used to have a fan blowing on my legs all night to ease the condition, but I have not had the need for it for the past 3 nights. I also suffer from burning feet syndrome, this has also virtually gone, just a mild tingling feeling now. I have not had any noticeable side effects, but it is still early. I would recommend anyone with this condition to give rotigotine a try."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "Suffered for many years with RLS and eventually got bad enough to get help from a neurologist. Tried various medications, but rotigotine 1 mg patches have stopped it from day one. Currently on my 3rd month of taking it. Wife says it can make me a bit cranky at times, but at least I sleep better."

Rotigotine for Restless Legs Syndrome "I have had RLS for 10 years+. And have suffered from lack of sleep with my legs jumping and aching terribly to the point I have put my foot through drywall a few times trying to get them to stop. I have now been on Neupro 2 mg for three years. It has saved my life and my sanity. Recently, I tried to get them refilled, but none of my pharmacies had them available. I totally panicked and called my doctor, who prescribed Requip. DID NOT HELP! I cried and cried in pain searching everywhere for them! I was told they stopped production of them and were only available to certain companies! BY THE GRACE OF GOD...I LOCATED THEM! ALL IS RIGHT IN MY LIFE NOW! Please don't ever take them away. Thank you, NEUPRO."

Rotigotine for Restless Legs Syndrome "I've been using Neupro for a few months now and they really do work. I had a few funny spells at the beginning, but it's worth persevering. The one thing that drives me mad is the redness and itching at the site of the patch, and for many days after. My doctor has given me some Eurex antihistamine cream which really helps. Also, hydrocortisone cream and cold ice packs really help. I have to weigh up at the end of the day which is worse - the restless leg syndrome (RLS) or the itching. Definitely the RLS. It would be great if they could sort out the reactions to the itching with the patch and make it so it sticks on better. I would rate it a 10 then."

Rotigotine for Restless Legs Syndrome "Neupro worked, but I kept getting rashes. Then, I had skin cancer, so I had to stop taking it! I don't think that it gave me the cancer. Now I take pregabalin and ropinirole, and ropinirole works better than pregabalin!"

Rotigotine for Restless Legs Syndrome "I have suffered with restless leg syndrome for at least 20 years. It got way worse after two pregnancies. I've tried oral medications, which make me incredibly nauseous. Finally, one doctor asked about the patch. I said, there's a patch?!? It has been a lifesaver. I started on 1 mg but ended up moving to 2 mg. I put it on at 4:00 p.m. and take it off the next day at 4 p.m. I also found taking magnesium glycinate a massive help. It still rears up occasionally, maybe once a week, but I will take that over every night and occasionally during the day. I get it in my legs but also in my arms, particularly the elbow, feeling that lightning bolt feeling. I wouldn't wish this on anybody."

Rotigotine for Restless Legs Syndrome "Use the 1 mg patch, which I put on my thigh 3 hours before I go to bed. I leave it on only until 2 or 3 AM and then I take it off. That means it is only on about 7 or 8 hours per night. It stops the RLS completely and reduces any unwanted side effects and rashes. I was only getting the RLS about a half hour after going to bed, so I felt that I didn't have to wear the patch all day if I only have the RLS at night. I make sure that my skin is very clean and dry before putting the patch on. I noticed that I still get RLS at night if I eat things with MSG like Chinese food, so it doesn't do anything for that. But otherwise it has worked great. Hopefully just using the patch for a relatively short time each night will reduce any chance of augmentation or any other problems."

Rotigotine for Parkinson's Disease "Been wearing patches for the last two years as I was in pain and unable to walk due to restless legs. The patches stopped this quickly, which I'm so grateful for. Unfortunately, my lower legs are noticeably swollen. I've put on three stone and lack any enthusiasm to lose weight, leading to impulse buying. I am waiting to hear from the Parkinson's nurse but will ring the doctor, I'm worried the restless legs will return if I stop using the patches. I can only wear them on my arms as they keep rubbing off anywhere else."

Rotigotine for Parkinson's Disease "My patient has been on Neupro for the past month and 2 weeks and takes Sinemet thrice a day. His extreme decline in cognitive and mobility issues began in December prior to Christmas. By the second week in January, his level of deterioration was severe. He couldn't do anything for himself any longer. Doctors were baffled, tests revealed nothing. Nobody had any idea until we observed a very slight tremor! There it was, our answer: Parkinson’s. He was given Sinemet, and immediately we saw some improvement and the diagnosis we were trying to find! He was placed under the care of a brain trauma specialist who promptly wrote a prescription for Neupro. We were stunned at the price and had to depend upon community resources to get it. Now, 6 weeks later, my patient is close to being the way he was 1 year ago prior to this nightmare. He was a man with few symptoms and very active. Now, he can go without using a wheelchair or walker and can talk, reason, and function again. WOW!"

Rotigotine for Restless Legs Syndrome "I tried every pill they have out there for RLS. Nothing worked, I thought I was going to go crazy due to no sleep until I found Neupro. I’ve been using a 3 mg patch for 6 years now, and it still works great! My insurance only paid a small percentage of the cost, which left me paying almost $4k a year. Then I found Prescription Hope, a company that helps with the high cost of prescriptions for people who have difficulty affording their meds. It’s worth your time to get help if you need it."

Rotigotine for Restless Legs Syndrome "I love the effects of the patch. However, they need to go back to the drawing board on the design. These patches do not stick for 24 hours. There are days when I need to reapply patches because they do not adhere. They are made of cheap plastic, and even though they say they can tolerate being wet, that is not true. I swim frequently, and I always lose the patch. Many nights it comes off while I’m sleeping. I love the medicine as I’ve tried different alternatives, and this is the first one that works. Please improve the patch!"

Rotigotine for Restless Legs Syndrome "I started on 1mg, then went to 2mg which I'm on now. I do find it works great. No more RLS. I nearly stopped using it though, as sometimes it doesn't stick and I get a really itchy skin irritation, sometimes lasting a few days. My doctor has given me antihistamine and hydrocortisone creams, but they don't really do much. Ice patches work well but only in that area. I don't always want to go to bed with one of those. Then, by chance, the other day, I was in the shower and had the water as hot as I could stand it. I sprayed it over the itchy areas till they felt calm. What a difference! Showering morning and night and hardly itching at all now. Maybe useful for someone else. It would be good if they could figure out the reaction so they don't itch as much. Really good!"
