Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Crohn's Disease "I'm in a clinical trial taking Skyrizi to treat my Crohn's disease symptoms. I've been injecting the medicine every 8 weeks for at least the last two years and I'm happy to report I've been in remission and symptom-free. The downside: it has wreaked havoc on my immune system and I get sick with everything to the extreme now. My body cannot fight off anything I'm exposed to. I've also gained a major amount of weight: 30 pounds in one year! My doctor says it's normal because I'm not in malabsorption anymore, but it's as if my metabolism has slowed versus absorbing. I don't eat any more than usual, yet keep gaining weight."

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "In October 2020, I took my first starter dose of Skyrizi. Within one week, I noticed my skin stopped flaking and started clearing up. After four weeks, my skin is almost cleared up. My body was 80% covered with plaque psoriasis. In November 2020, I will be taking my first full dose. I am very happy with the results. The only side effect I have noticed is urinating more than normal."

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "Been taking Skyrizi for more than a year now after failing on several other biologics, systemics for plaque psoriasis. Also went onto this medication with high blood pressure and heart issues and long COVID symptoms. It cleared me within 4 weeks, and I would say has the least amount of side effects out of any other biologic systemic I have taken. It also seems to control other miscellaneous inflammation, and I have not become immune to it quickly, unlike other medications. Not a single lesion has returned, I am 100% clear from having 20% severe coverage prior. I did get pneumonia recently, unfortunately for the 4th time, but antibiotics cleared it within a week. You do need to watch for infections, if you are not getting better on your own, see a doctor. This will happen on any biologic or systemic as it's my 4th time going through that. After what I have experienced, Skyrizi's benefits outweigh the risks, and in my opinion, would be the least risky internal treatment for psoriasis."

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "I've just had my 3rd dose of Skyrizi, and I couldn't be happier. I've had psoriasis for over 60 years, and I figured it was about time for me to get a break. My plaques were mostly mild until I turned about 55. Then they just started appearing everywhere, to the point where all I was thinking about was how to get rid of them. I'm a very healthy person -- I exercise daily, don't drink alcohol, don't smoke, and I'm not on any medications at all. But no matter what, the plaques just kept coming. I resisted medication for years because I just don't like taking drugs. But I finally caved and started Skyrizi. For me, the really noticeable effects started with the second shot. For the first time since I was 3 years old, my scalp is totally clear of plaques. My elbows, knees, and torso are totally clear. I have a random spot here and there, but that's it. Skyrizi has been great for my psoriasis, but also great for my mental health -- I no longer worry about plaques all over my body."

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "I have plaque psoriasis, and I have tried the pills, but nothing has worked like Skyrizi. I have only had my second dose. My scalp and skin look great, the redness and flakes. Not a lot of side effects. I even had Covid just before my second dose. Everything went well. I am so glad my doctor started me on this medicine."

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "WOW!!! I have been suffering from psoriasis ever since my first Moderna COVID jab in May 2021. I broke out head to toe in red, itchy circles, and my scalp was the WORST! My scalp was shedding dandruff everywhere. I saw four different dermatologists, and I got many topical treatments, and I tried every OTC and holistic treatment, but within four days of my first dose of Skyrizi in August 2022, my psoriasis cleared up - 100%. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT. Zero side effects. I’m on my third dose, and I’m still 100% clear and I have zero side effects. I am so over the moon happy with this medication. I can finally sleep well at night because I’m not itching. I can finally wear black again. I got my life back. It took a lot of effort on my part to get a dermatologist to finally prescribe me it, but it’s soooooo worth it!"

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Crohn's Disease "This drug has been an absolute miracle and should be the first-line treatment for many Crohn's patients to speak to their doctor about. After 13+ years of different medications, this is the only one that has given both symptom relief and also a 90% improvement in inflammation/lab markers. Honestly, it delivers what the commercials promise. However, it is very expensive and critical to have good insurance. The on-body injector is the easiest and most pain-free injection method I have had. It took about 6 months to really see marked results in labs. In my journey, I've tried Humira (became ineffective), all the pill/foam/suppository options (zero improvement), Entyvio (worked some but the infusion center schedule was difficult with my work travel), lastly Stelara and Cimzia, which caused neurological issues including a tonic-clonic meltdown with Cimzia specifically. I cannot think of any side effects to date other than no longer looking for a bathroom constantly. Nothing is truly everything."

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Psoriatic Arthritis "The effects of the medication were slow-acting, but I was told this. After four shots, I have a 90% reduction in psoriasis and a 100% reduction in dactylitis. Joint stiffness starts to come back a few weeks prior to the next dosage, but I have been taking the medication for just less than a year. Overall, I am happy with the results."

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Psoriatic Arthritis "I have PsA and psoriasis, HLA-B27+ with elevated monocytes 900+. The 1st week after taking your first dose, you’ll feel like crap since your immune system gets all scrambled, but after that, you will find significant joint improvement and experience less fatigue. Also got a headache, felt mildly nauseous, and had slight constipation. Your intestines have to adjust, almost all PsA patients have some hidden intestinal inflammation as this disease is systemic (impacts the entire body). It feels like a disease flare-up + sinus infection at the same time, lol. The headaches were tension/sinus type. Your joints will hurt more the 1st week. It’s normal, stick with it. I was able to shower and wash my entire body standing up for the first time in 10 years tonight. Usually, I can only wash 50% before my back gets too stiff, my feet begin to burn/throb, and my muscles in my upper body give out due to muscle and systemic fatigue. I’m 36F, btw."

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Crohn's Disease "I have had the two infusion doses. No side effects except my anemia is worse. Which may not be related. It is almost like I don't have Crohn's anymore. I was doing well with Inflectra but developed antibodies to it."

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Psoriasis "I have been on Skyrizi for over a year and a half now. My psoriasis cleared up soon after the initial doses. My skin has been clear and smooth. I had no bad reactions to this drug, and it has been a Godsend. Would highly recommend. I get mine from AbbVie at no cost."

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Psoriasis "I had a really bad stomach pain followed by a crazy itching all over my body. I’ve taken two doses of Skyrizi, and I had the same reaction twice, a month apart. How can I get rid of these symptoms? I’m so scared that it will happen again. I’m never taking Skyrizi again!"

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "Worked great, but I had to stop taking due to upper respiratory infections. Before taking this, I never got an upper infection. My first injection, I wound up in the hospital with sepsis, double pneumonia incubated 3 days. I tried taking for a year but had to stop. Worked great."

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Psoriatic Arthritis "After 2 years of trying six different biologics, my rheumatologist and I finally found one that has helped my severe PsA - Skyrizi. I use the prefilled syringes and it is so easy to dose. After two starter doses, I only have to inject once every three months! Pretty amazing! Although my symptoms are not gone, my joints feel so much better. I would say they have improved by 75%. I have only had one side effect that I get sometimes - cold sores on my lips. I use Aqaphor once or twice a day, which helps a lot. Thank goodness I have an aggressive and very positive rheumatologist. His work and this drug have made a huge improvement to my quality of life."

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Psoriasis "this drug after close to 18months or more made no difference in low back guttate psoriasis dermatitis is which appeared as an allergic reaction after bad food and another drug. I've been given many drugs in the same class: enbrel humira skyrizi otezla consentyx they're all equally ineffective and only made my skin hurt. The dermatitis the MD was at war with was not my normal immune system over reacting no, The allergic reaction was to another drug or a bacteria in food. The only thing that puts the low back dermatitis closest to get guttate psoriasis calm down is two weeks of water fasting and avoiding the other mess provoking breakout."

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Psoriasis "Went into Skyrizi failing every other biologic system you could think of before it, trying to treat plaque psoriasis and arthritis for 12 years. Although it cannot treat the PSA for more than a month per loading dose, Skyrizi not only cleared my skin quicker than the competitors, it also didn't have a severe effect on my existing health conditions, unlike the rest. In fact, I noticed some of those other conditions improve temporarily. I have also been able to enjoy a flexible diet and other bad habits without a single lesion or breakout since starting it. I cannot break the effectiveness of this biologic no matter what I eat or drink. I would say, based on my experience, it is the least risky and most effective thus far and has taught us the IL-23 pathway is critical to treating many other autoimmune diseases."

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "To get started, I spent $3300 to begin my initial dose of Skyrizi. After which I used Abbie Assistance for my following two doses (every 2 months), so far it's controlling my Plague Psoriasis quite well , but why is it $21,000 for its retail cost (per injection) - it's quite ridiculous ! We find it EXCESSIVELY expensive- and I'm a 100% Disabled Veteran. The VA will only pay for a Medicated tape which is useless in trying to control plague psoriasis all over the body!"

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "Overall, I have had a rather good experience with Skyrizi. Unfortunately, I have experienced a lot of itching, not of a dangerous nature, but the psoriasis, for which I take the medication, has been pretty much cured. I have, however, had a raving appetite on this and I have also begun to suffer hair loss (hair is coming out in handfuls and has gone VERY thin). On the whole though, my experience has been okay."

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Psoriasis "I have guttate psoriasis, about 70% of my body is covered. I just started Skyrizi and got both the starter injections in my stomach at the doctor's office. I have noticed some burning when I pee, some tiredness, flushing. I know my body has to get used to this medication. I’m glad I have some time off work for my body to adjust to this Skyrizi. The patches on my arms and legs are starting to dissipate after only 4 days."

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Psoriasis "I’ve had psoriasis since I was 8 years old and have done every topical recommendation under the sun. I was on otezla for a few years. Initially it worked well but I had a lot of side effects and then it stopped working at all. I started skyrizi a year ago and cannot be happier. My scalp is clear for the first time in 24 years and all the visual plaques on my skin has resolved. I had no side effects from starting it but have gotten two UTIs (which I have never had before) since being on it."

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Psoriasis "I started Skyrizi in May, 2022 after my skin doctor had me try a number of drugs including Enstillar. Enstilar was effective at first but the psoriasis spread to my arms and legs so much we tried other creams and Otezla. After two weeks after starting Skyrizi, my psoriasis started to improve on My legs and arms. I have taken Skyrizi in August, November, and January. My skin doctor said I should keep using it because if I stop, the psoriasis might get worse. Am now in the second year of Skyrizi and my psoriasis is 95% gone! Trying to research issue of continued use after a full year or 4 doses."

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Crohn's Disease "Previously on Entiviyo until efficacy declined and symptoms came back. Skyrizi chosen due to past history with CNS lymphoma. Symptoms disappeared after initial dosing of Skyrizi. Just had my second 8-week interval self-dosing and still no Crohn’s symptoms. I have had a bout of pneumonia (not new for me) while on Skyrizi. My immunoglobulin G was just tested and is slightly below acceptable range. Self-dosing is easy to do and have had no problems."

Skyrizi (risankizumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "I was about 40% covered with plaque. My onset occurred in 2018, and just kept taking new territory. I tried every topical OTC concoction that came to my attention. When I finally talked to a dermatologist, I was hopeful when she said she wanted to prescribe a biologic that I had already developed a good impression of, Skyrizi. I took the first of two introductory doses a few days before Christmas. By New Year's Day, I already noticed a slight lessening in the continuous sloughing off of dead skin. By the time I took the second intro dose near the end of January, I noticed a definite improvement in all my symptoms. The scales stopped falling altogether, and the itch was mostly gone. I had my 12th week injection recently, and my results have been completely astonishing! I was hoping so much that this would work, and it did! Finally, my suffering is behind me. I've had no side effects that I can definitely associate with this medication. Some mucous overproduction, but who knows?"
