For Insomnia "Seroquel saved my life, due to PTSD I have insomnia for over 7 years it was so bad I felt crazy and unstable, I contemplated suicide daily and I couldn't function. I was finally able to sleep with seroquel after trying everything else. Unfortunately it made me gain a lot of weight and I have very irregular periods. I don't want to continue long term but it does help me sleep at night. I could not function without it."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "LIFESAVER. I tried antidepressant after antidepressant, all exacerbating my original anxiety symptoms- nausea, vomiting, insomnia, brain zaps, anziety, agitation, headaches/ migraines. You name it, I had it and the antidepressants made it worse. Been on Quetiapine XR 50mg and I'm still trying to get used to how GOOD I feel. for the first time in YEARS I'm not waking up nauseous and dry-retching, appetite is normal, sleeping a blissful 8 hours a night and waking up easily in the morning, alert and awake during the day. My anxiety is just GONE. I still have emotions, I still care about things, but this feels like what I imagine a normal person feels like. e.g. I can cope without panicking!! 10/10!!!"

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Ive had anxiety, panic, and depression for 8 months. Its been Hell. SSRI's are scary to me, and I had a bad experience with one. I searched non SSRI and found Quetiapine, which is the generic Seroquel. I take 25mg during the day, sometimes twice a day, and 1x25mg at night before bed. Helps calm down the anxiety so I can sleep at night, and function at work during the day. No bad side effects. Small doses almost act like a heavy antihistamine. Makes me a little drowsy, but its worth it to be able to function. If your suffering from anxiety, dont be scared to take this medication! Do yourself a favor and just be brave and do it. You will feel better. Nobody wants to take pills, but sometimes enough is enough and we need help."

Seroquel XR (quetiapine) for Depression "I am diagnosed with BPD, severe anxiety and depression. I've tried multiple antidepressant before, and none of them worked for me. My doctor prescribed me 50 mg of Seroquel XR, and I take it before going to sleep. I have now been taking it for 3 months, and it literally saved my life. I've experienced some side effects at first, but now that my body is used to the medication, I feel so much better. I can go out, see friends, and do a lot of things I couldn't even think about doing 2 months ago. In contrary to a lot of people, I didn't gain weight yet, I even lost some. It also helps my mood swings and my dissociation. The only negative thing I can think of is the tiredness. But, if I get out of bed right away, I'm good for the day. I can recommend to not take it too late, because it can make it hard to wake up in the morning. In conclusion, I think it's a great medication and even if you're scared to take it, just give it a try and let it time to start working."

Seroquel (quetiapine) for Bipolar Disorder "Seroquel is an excellent choice for stabilizing the mood and improving sleep in the context of a Bipolar disorder. I have Bipolar II mood disorder and recently experienced chronic sleeplessness and angry-agitated moods. The day of my medical appointment I became overtly angry in two separate social circumstances. These angry reactions are very hurtful to those who experience the triggered anger. Seroquel (an antipsychotic and mood stabilizer) calms down the CNS agitation, reduces negative thoughts and improves quality of sleep: very important for our overall health and well-being!"

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I noticed this pill started working for me within the first week. I've been on it now for 4 weeks and have noticed a big change. I was taking Ativan every day for a month before I started taking this medication as my anxiety and intrusive thoughts were out of control. I haven't had to take Ativan for 3 weeks now and am feel so much better, and back to my happy self. I'm on the lowest does you can be on. So happy I gave this a go! Looking forward to the future of feeling good and less anxiety."

Seroquel (quetiapine) for Bipolar Disorder "I was put on Seroquel 4 months ago as before I was on it I had really bad, uncontrollable mood swings throughout the day. After about 3 months of really struggling I had a really bad depressive episode where I was convinced people at work were out to get me. My mind was racing extremely fast, I had a huge amount of anxiety, and was extremely stressed out combined with really low sinking depression. I had to spend 24 hours in a hospital and they put me on Seroquel and a few other medications. The Serooquel has completely saved my life, along with my support system. I had low sinking moods occasionally for about 2 months and had my dosage upped. Now I'm at 200mg every night and am about 90% stable. I was diagnosed Major Depression W/ Psychotic Features but since have been diagnosed with Bipolar II. If you're having mood swings or intense anxiety with an out of control racing mind please don't force yourself to push through it. Try seroquel and it might give you your life back like it did me."

For Borderline Personality Disorder "I’ve been taking 25mg of Quetiapine at night for a month. Was wary of the weight gain, however have not gained any weight. I do watch what I eat and walk for around 30mins-1hr everyday. I think it’s best to take it at night as it does make you very sleepy and do feel some slight hunger, so best to take at night to avoid urges to eat/over eat. In terms of mental health, it’s completed changed my life, I went from crying for hours a days by torturing myself with overthinking, to just finally being able to feel grounded and live my life like a ‘normal’ person. I haven’t changed and I’m not ‘doped’ out all the time as some people may imagine when someone takes a drug like this. I actually feel positive about my life and it’s allowed me to have some hope for overcoming BPD, or manage my symptoms. I would definitely recommend this drug, however I am aware people have different reactions, but for me it’s been very beneficial and I hope my review can help someone else too"

For Insomnia "I have been taken the generic Seroquel for 3 months. I am up to a 50mg dose at night. It does make you have very vivid dreams, some scary life like, and I am a zombie most of the day. I get up maybe once and try to eat everything in the house too. Gaining weight!! I wonder if that will go away? Any thoughts on that? I do also take Klonopin, and Effexor for panic attacks and depression. My doctor put me on the Seroquel for a mood stabilizer and sleep too. My Mother took Seroquel XR for years. Her doctor took her off it because it made her a diabetic. She had a lot of trouble sleeping for months. I take the tablets only. Good luck to everyone."

Seroquel (quetiapine) for Bipolar Disorder "I have struggled with depression and anxiety for about 14 years (I am 27). The past 2 years have been the hardest, I have been suicidal every day and I had lost all hope. For about 10 months I have been on: lexapro for 3 months, then effexor for 3 months, and now pristiq for 4 months. I have also had regular talk therapy with a psychologist. About a month ago a psychiatrist prescribed seroquel 25mg as an add on to my pristiq. The past 4 weeks have been the best I have felt in many years. I feel much lighter (as in, the heaviness of depression has lifted), much more positive, I haven't been ruminating about the past. Seroquel has truly made a world of difference. I truly think its very possible I could have ended up a suicide eventually without it. It's only been 4 weeks, but hopefully the effects continue. It's worth a try if nothing else has worked."

For Insomnia "After years of chronic insomnia my GP prescribed 25mg of Quetiapine. It's been a miracle drug for me. Still walking in the night, but able to go back to sleep and get a full 8 hours. Godsend is all I can say :) Only weird thing is that I have a lot more vivid dreams - weird!"

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Whatever your condition, from my experience do not start taking this drug quetiapine. I speak from experience with bipolar, major depression, and anxiety. The side effects are far worse than any benefits. The only benefit I have found is some help with sleep, but even that is inconsistent and sometimes my overall sleep is much worse (fewer hours). It causes massive weight gain over time and dependency. Once you take it, you feel like you won't be able to sleep without it. I have been on it for years and have been unable to get off it, even though at this point I am on a low dose of 25 mg when I used to be on a high dose."

For Insomnia "I used to have really bad insomnia. I don't know the cause but it made me sleep 7 hours in the span of three days. My mind was like a radio, non stop playing and talking. When I took seroquel for my bipolar disorder I was super drowsy and I could not wake up during the day. I started 25mg but I noticed that I was getting sleep. Overtime I had to increase my dose to 300mg to get good sleep. My body always gets use to meds and I ended up increasing every-time. I found that 300mg was good to give me 8 or 9 hours of sleep at night. If I take it early I can wake up early and feel well rested for the next day. I noticed that if I need to wake up sooner I less my dose with 200mg. The only downside to this medication is the weight gain. I would wake up in the middle of the night hungry and thirsty. Spoke with my doc and tried Trazodone and Temazepam but none worked better compare to Seroquel. Still a life saver."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Best drug/antidepressant I've taken for my generalized anxiety. Originally starting taking 12.5mg a couple years ago for insomnia. Now I take 25mg in the morning and 25mg in the evening. Took about 5 days to have a noticeable effect on my anxiety. My compulsive worrying now feels controllable and I feel much calmer. The only antidepressant I've taken without experiencing major side effects, other than some grogginess at first. I came off it for 3 months without withdrawal symptoms after a year, so don't be afraid to try it! I'm 21."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I started this med quetiapine about 3 wks ago at a dose of 25mg. I go to sleep shortly after taking it but wake up during the night for an hour or so and sometimes find it hard to get back to sleep. It has reduced my anxiety and I find myself being more friendly/open. I have lost weight and seem to eat less also. I also take effexor 150mg."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I used to have terrible anxiety and racing thoughts and would break down crying every day. I started taking 25mg of Seroquel every night and I am no longer anxious. I have a great sleep every night and wake up feeling awesome. I don't need Ativan anymore for panic attacks as they have ceased completely. I tried Wellbutrin for a while and it made me crazy...for anyone who is nervous about taking an antidepressant or benzos I would highly recommend this medication. I feel like myself - no tremor or fogginess or zombie-like feelings. Occasionally my legs feel a bit restless but I can deal with that. No issues if I don't take it for a night and want to go for drinks or something. No issues with weight gain. Highly recommend! I got my life back."

For Insomnia "Seroquel drug works wonders for my insomnia. It’s the only thing that’s ever worked for me and it also helps with my hallucinations. Only downside is that it makes weed completely ineffective (no tolerance and half a gram and you get no effects whatsoever). Still think it’s a fair trade off if it means I can sleep and don’t have to worry about my psychotic symptoms though."

Seroquel (quetiapine) for Schizoaffective Disorder "Seroquel saved my life. I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder at 16 ( I'm 18 now) and I’ve tried almost all second-generation antipsychotics since I was 13. ALL made me experience horrid side effects (extrapyramidal effects, paranoia, vomiting, emotionally flat). Seroquel within 2 days of taking it helped me feel relatively normal...with NO akathisia/extrapyramidal effects. I can sleep, I don’t feel anywhere as paranoid, the delusions have significantly decreased. The only thing that is a little funky is the hunger, but I can manage that. This drug has helped me live a normal life. I’m at 300mg now and this is my safe spot. For anyone considering this medication, go for it. It’s the only antipsychotic that has not made me crawl out of my skin and “die” mentally. Genuinely a wonderful drug."

For Insomnia "I’ve had trouble sleeping for so long. My issue is that I can’t fall asleep but when I do, I sleep without it being disturbed. It has caused me so many issues when I have to go somewhere in the morning and I haven’t slept not even for a minute. And when I don’t get sleep, I have muscle spasms, i vomit etc. So it is very important I get my sleep every night. I also have anxiety and I was prescribed this medication to help calm down my anxiety and unfortunately like every other medication I have tried, it doesn’t calm down my anxiety. However, it makes me so sleepy and puts me to sleep. Not straight away. But it is so amazing. It has helped my insomnia so well and I love it."

Seroquel (quetiapine) for Bipolar Disorder "I have bipolar mania with stages of depression. It has been like this since I was very young. It comes along with episodes of mood swings. I am on 25 mg of Seroquel now and have been on both 50mg and 100 mg. 25 mg does great things for me. No more sleepless nights. No more intense spending sprees. No more major anxiety most of the time. A lot less depression and a lot less irritability I experienced as well. I get tired and a little unmotivated in the morning, but I have coffee and breakfast and I'm good. Weight gain is the other concerns but I have controlled it with walking good amounts each day. Well worth a try and definitely something to consider for a bipolar patient."

Seroquel (quetiapine) for Bipolar Disorder "I have Chronic Insomnia, Mania from Bipolar Disorder Seroquel is effective for my insomnia and mania/mood swings. I take my 100mg dose of Seroquel at night at 9pm. I find that taking my dose at this time significantly reduces the groggy side effects in the morning allowing me to wake up feeling refreshed and well ready and with the energy I need to start my day. I also do not experience the Seroquel “munchies” that many report to experience. I am not a doctor or a practicer of health and medicine, therefore it is not my place to recommend others to take this. It is also not my place to tell others not to take it. For me it had a very beneficial effect on my life and functionality. My experience has been positive but it may not be for you. Also everyone take your meds as prescribed. If you don’t feel a benefit don’t stop it on your own terms. Express this to your doctor. They know more than you. Set alarms to make sure you take it consistently daily."

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "I started taking seroquel about a year ago to help with insomnia causes by OCD and anxiety. It helped me incredibly, I took either 25 mg-50 mg each night to help me sleep. It has helped so much with my OCD and taken the edge away from my anxiety. I use to get very fixated on intrusive thoughts to the point where I couldn't sleep, but with this medication I can actually slow my thinking down and rationalize and calm down. I just want to say, if you’re struggling with OCD and anxiety and cannot sleep, please reach out for help. Sleep deprivation can worsen your symptoms and thinking! Please reach out for help if you are struggling with any kind of mental health issue."

Seroquel (quetiapine) for Bipolar Disorder "I too gained masses of weight taking Seroquel but lost it all (35lb) in 6 months by healthy eating & being AWARE of the pitfalls. Seroquel does not make you gain weight. Seroquel makes you crazy HUNGRY craving all the bad stuff - salt/sugar/fried food for me. The secret is to ANTICIPATE your munchies. Prepare a large but healthy snack in advance or save half your evening meal and have it at bedtime just before you take your meds. This really worked for me. Taking my meds on a full stomach took the cravings away."
