For Migraine Prevention "Went from getting migraines 3 times weekly (lasting 12 hrs), to less than 3 times yearly on the propranolol and I experienced zero side effects that I am aware of. Extremely life-changing as it pretty much alleviated this debilitating condition completely. Would recommend propranolol for Migraines"

For Anxiety "After 7 years on various SSRIs and many other tried and tested medicines, I finally stumbled across propranolol. A truly life-changing medicine for my anxiety disorder. I always presented with high blood pressure, and my belief is that hypertension is an underlying cause of crippling anxiety. If it isn't, then it is most certainly involved in the anxiety circle: more hypertension, more anxiety, more hypertension, etc. Anyway, this is the best medication I have ever taken... my mind and body seem to be healing in a way I can only describe as miraculous! Please bear with this medication, although it does work immediately, I'd say it takes around 6 weeks to fully bed in."

For Anxiety "This drug is an amazing drug for anxiety. I've been on it for about two weeks and I feel so much better. I cannot take an SSRI or SNRI for anxiety because the side effects are too bad. This drug keeps my body from reacting to stressful situations. For years, probably 30 years, I have had physical problems because of this stress: irritable bowel and many other physical problems. I have a very stressful job, and it was getting so bad I didn't want to go to work. Now I don't react physically to stress, and I am feeling like I did as a younger person. This drug has so few side effects, and it's been around for a long time. I wish I would've tried this years ago."

Propranolol for Performance Anxiety "This drug is a miracle! Imagine every time you're about to present in front of people - the panic creeping in, heart racing, visible trembling almost to the point of convulsion with a lump in your throat and cracking voice. Imagine what everyone's thinking as you choke trying to spit out words on a piece of paper, who knew reading could be so difficult. Think about the embarrassment and how incompetent you feel when in reality you actually exude confidence. Why is my body attacking me? Why is it impossible to simply read off a piece of paper and not turn into a shaking wreck. This was me...and I had tried many therapies I read online before, trust me. Long story short...I was cured first dose of Inderal and never looked back. I hope others find relief."

For Performance Anxiety "My entire life, I have had a fear of public speaking that is so intense I would literally shut down and stop talking in the middle of a presentation. My heart feels like it is going to jump out of my chest, my mind goes completely blank, I turn red-faced, and my body and voice begin to tremble uncontrollably. I failed college courses, changed jobs, and altered my entire life just to avoid speaking in public. It was such a difficult and embarrassing problem that filled me with so much shame. One day, a friend told me about propranolol and so I went to the Doctor. The Doc prescribed and I can now present like a professional with zero anxiety. Simply put, this medicine changed my entire life and I would recommend it to anyone with anxiety."

For Panic Disorder "Been taking propranolol for around 3 years. It has worked wonders for my panic disorder. I take it every morning at 10 am at 40 mg. As soon as I've taken it, I feel calmer and my anxiety and racing thoughts go away. I can control my anxiety attacks a lot better, it takes away the racing heart rate associated with panic attacks. There are some common side effects of this medication, these are drowsiness, a slow heart rate, and mild dizziness when you stand up, but apart from that, it has been very effective at dealing with my panic attacks. I highly recommend it to people with anxiety issues or fears of going in for a job interview or on an airplane. It works really well for these things."

For Anxiety "Propranolol is excellent for dampening down anxiety (actually eliminated mine). In a past life, I used alcohol to attempt to deal with anxiety. I was put on propranolol for a liver disease issue, but it had the unexpected benefit of getting rid of the anxiety I was feeling altogether. I take 10 mg in the morning and 10 mg at night. It helps with sleep too. I owe so much to this medication."

For Anxiety "I have always tried to stay away from meds, but I realized that the trauma I have experienced in my life made it hard for me to deal with relationships & I become anxious to the point where I want to throw up, heart beats insanely fast, constant fight or flight mode. I took this and within an hour, I could talk about my ex without going into a spiral. This is the most amazing feeling, I feel free and although this isn't targeted for mental anxiety, my head feels clear because I don't have all of this adrenaline running through my body. I wish I had found out about this sooner, I feel happy, I feel calm. When I do get into stressful situations, I don't have my body yelling at me to spiral. I can already tell this is going to be life changing. Dose: 20mg in the morning, 20mg at night. No side effects except a little nausea the first 10 mins it starts hitting, then nothing!"

For Performance Anxiety "I've used this drug PRN for over 10 years now and it is simply a career saver and, as a result, a life saver. Without it, I would not be able to do the job I do nor obviously earn the good money I make to support my family. Prior to being prescribed this medication, I suffered from extreme public speaking and performance anxiety. I would use Diazepam but, while numbing the nerves, I felt that it made me quite dumb. So I would slur and even once nearly fell over, having bumped into some chairs after leaving a meeting room at the conclusion of the meeting. My anxiety was that bad, I used to make up the most lame excuses to avoid even the most rudimentary meetings, and presenting was completely out of the question. I'm positive that I was the office joke. All that changed with this med. I sometimes find myself in my current role presenting to over 100 people. Pffff. Simple these days. I come across polished and confident. Absolutely love it. The only drug I'll ever use."

For Benign Essential Tremor "This is a miracle for my essential tremor. It effectively mitigates the tremors in all parts of the body. It used to be debilitating to face stressful situations at work or socially, as my 'shakes' would rear their ugly head in my voice and in any movement. Afterwards, the nervousness is still there, but the tremor is gone. 40mg 2x daily."

For Anxiety "My anxiety gets really bad to the point I fear for my health, which brings on a panic attack. I was prescribed these but was scared to take in case of bad side effects. I bit the bullet and they worked a treat but stopped taking them after the first one due to my mouth and throat becoming really dry to the point it made me cough a little and felt sort of like my throat was closing a little. Anyone else had this side effect and did they stop or carry on?"

Propranolol for Benign Essential Tremor "My tremors were getting worse and worse so I went to my doctor. She thought I had Parkinson's and referred me to a neurologist. The appointment came through about 4 months later. The neurologist diagnosed essential tremor and prescribed half Inderal 80g once a day. After taking the meds, I felt so much better. I still get the shakes, but nowhere near as bad. My muscles are stiff though, and it's causing me problems walking far, and my neck and shoulders hurt too. I'll have to ask whether Inderal is the cause at my next appointment. All in all, it's been great. I especially notice the difference when cooking or eating a meal or drinking from a glass. I don't spill as much now, and it's less embarrassing when in a restaurant."

Propranolol for Migraine Prevention "Started getting severe migraines regularly at about age 27. By 35, it was debilitating, and I would not have been able to hold down a job. Several bad migraines each month. Imitrex would help, and I could function if I caught it early enough, but sometimes would wake up with them. Tried a lot of things, and finally at about age 45, started on Inderal. Changed my life, and now practically never get them, although I do think that menopause might have helped as it did for my mother. Highly recommend this drug and just wish I had started on it earlier. My kids would have had a more fun and reliable Mom."

For Benign Essential Tremor "Been dealing with Essential Tremor for several years, and finally talked to my doctor about it. Started propranolol a week ago and within a day or so, the tremors were all but gone, and I've noticed no side effects at all. I could barely write my name before, now I'm rock steady. No more embarrassing tremors!"

For Performance Anxiety "I used to run off stage or start crying on stage due to extreme fear of public speaking. My voice trembled so terribly that my nickname was baa baa sheep. I suffered from this phobia for over thirty years and I took propranolol for the first time and I was a stunner during my presentation. Thank you to whoever created this medication."

For Panic Disorder "I've tried Buspar, Xanax, Ativan, various antidepressants, antipsychotics, and even cyclobenzaprine (muscle relaxant). Propranolol (20mg daily) has been the best medication of ALL of these for generalized anxiety. No 'swimming head', no dry mouth, no ravenous hunger... almost no side effects, except I feel a bit slow before my morning shower. Propranolol gives a nice 'body calm' - heart rate steady, no sweating palms, and no jittery feeling. I now use low doses of Propranolol and Imipramine for generalized anxiety and panic, and Lamotrigine for cyclothymia, and (rarely) Ativan. I feel like a new man! They also use Propranolol to treat PTSD patients... it blocks the 'fight/flight' reaction and allows processing of trauma."

For Anxiety "I have suffered from anxiety and SEVERE blushing of the face & neck/chest for decades. I thought it was a lifelong curse, and that I just had to look like a complete fool whenever I was in public speaking situations, interviews, stressful interactions, etc. It was horrible! I FINALLY stumbled upon a forum about propranolol for anxiety & blushing. I would try anything at this point, and so thankful I did. It is literally the only thing that has EVER worked for me. 40mg propranolol immediate release tablets 2x per day (AM & PM) and I am a new person, there is occasional blushing and it's not a 100% cure-all, but NOTHING like the bright red tomato/hive look that I used to have when anxious. It has been a life-changer for me, especially since my job requires public speaking. I've gained about 5 pounds, and also have to sometimes monitor my heart rate to make sure it's not too low, which isn't ideal, but I will take that over the awful circumstances I had to deal with for years!!! Highly recommend!"

For Anxiety "I have been on propranolol for 4 days. I am supposed to take a dose of 10 mg 2 times a day. It made me really sick, so I cut back to 5 mg and the side effects are gone. I hope this works. I can't live shaking like I was."

For Arrhythmia "Have been taking 120 mg propranolol a day for over a year now. Was prescribed because my heart palpitations suddenly got much, much worse, out of the blue, to the point I couldn't function. Propranolol has calmed the horrible, constant palpitations, however, I still get flutters fairly regularly, although on a bad day I can have them off and on all day. But it's definitely improved the palps, it just hasn't wiped them out completely. But overall, propranolol does help calm the heart flutters. Side effects I've noticed? Not sure. But I seem to tolerate propranolol better than I did metoprolol, which made me feel nauseous. Propranolol doesn't do this to me. So if you're like me and you're reading up on here because you're a big baby afraid to take a new med, please don't worry about this one unless you already have low blood pressure, as the drug can lower your blood pressure. But apart from that, in my opinion, you'll be okay."

For Anxiety "Anxiety/panic attacks for a year or so. Fear of the fear made my brain expect an episode in virtually every situation with friends/family/strangers, you name it. 80mg SR stopped my physical symptoms - shaking, tingling fingers, heart pumping, which in turn stopped my brain from racing and expecting the attack. Life changer. Thank you so much. I'm back!"

For Migraine Prevention "I used to get extremely severe migraines which affected my life and also my family's as I needed to go to bed for 1-2 days, vomiting constantly. I started taking propranolol 10 years ago and have not had any migraines since. My quality of life is now 'normal' and I don't worry about ruining my family's life anymore. I have missed so many important days in the past due to migraines. This drug has literally changed my life!"

For Performance Anxiety "It finally dawned on me that others might suffer my same public speaking 'fight or flight' response. The uncontrollable shaking uncontrollably, heart racing as my turn to speak neared, panic attacks caused me to not speak and forgo many career advancing opportunities. I overprepared, tried public speaking classes, still the shakes and heart race caused me to lose my train of thought, cut myself short and generally look like an idiot. I finally searched online and found information on propranolol and Xanax. Frankly, Xanax just made me tired. I tried propranolol immediately prior to having to speak, and WOW. I waited for the heart race and blood rush, nothing. I was shocked and was able to speak like any normal person. Miracle!"

For Anxiety "This is an absolute miracle drug for anyone suffering from extreme blushing. For me, it happens during any stressful situation and it’s completely debilitating. In case it’s psychosomatic, I’ve tried CBT, general therapy and hypnotism but nothing worked. I even remember reading about a teenager who committed suicide because of this and people who have risky surgeries to correct it. At work, my blushing interfered with all my meetings, presentations and interactions with my colleagues. People frequently asked me if I needed an ambulance due to an allergic reaction or a panic attack. I eventually gave up my public facing career and struggled at interviews for more solitary and lower paying positions. Finally a doctor prescribed me this medication and I no longer experience ANY blushing whatsoever. It’s so sad that this could have saved that boy’s life if it had only been prescribed to him... I only take 5-10 mg to keep my blushing at bay."

For Performance Anxiety "Unbelievable. Suffered for years with performance anxiety and my current job meant I had to do more and more meetings. It got to the point that I was thinking I'd have to leave my job or throw myself off a bridge to escape. As a last resort, I went to the doctor hoping to try beta blockers - I got these thinking they might help a bit. THEY TOTALLY CURED ME. It was like a miracle - I was even cracking jokes and arriving first at meetings, whereas before I'd hidden in toilets. Only my 1st week, don't know what the future holds but for now I'll just celebrate the relief this has provided."

For Anxiety "I was put on Propranolol for anxiety/panic attacks. The dose doctors started me on was 10mg twice a day. It really does give you relief from the physical side of anxiety/panic attacks. I had no side effects whatsoever. It gives you a nice calming feeling. Doctors did recommend I up the dose to 40mg twice a day for my vertigo, but when I did this, I became very agitated, restless, and had diarrhea. So, I reduced back down to 10mg two or three times a day, and that works for me! If you've been given this drug for your anxiety, please give it a go. Obviously, everyone reacts differently to drugs, but at least give them a try."
