For Influenza "I was prescribed Tamiflu after being ill with a strange and strong flu virus, but it made me feel so much worse, with vomiting, nausea, dizziness, and headaches in addition to my flu symptoms. It really isn’t worth it, and I wish I wasn’t prescribed it because now I’m faced with the task of finishing it because you have to complete the pack. I’m dreading taking the next one. It really isn’t worth feeling this way for hardly any benefits. Plus, it’s super expensive."

For Influenza "I woke up Monday morning and I had started to feel really run down and exhausted. I thought I just had a bad cold, so I just made sure to rest all day. Tuesday morning I woke up with a fever, congestion, and I could barely get out of bed. Thursday afternoon I finally went to the doctor, where I was diagnosed with the Influenza A (H3N2) virus. They prescribed me Tamiflu to see if it would help with my symptoms. So that Thursday night at around 10 pm, I took the medicine, and an hour later, the nausea started. I began throwing up too. I have never felt so nauseous before, it was horrible! I ended up in the emergency room at 4 am to see if they could give me anti-nausea medication to make it stop, and they did. I did take the medication on an empty stomach, but that's because I had absolutely no appetite all week while sick. I definitely won't be taking this medication again. It is not worth feeling that nauseous ever again!"

For Influenza "Both my children and I got the flu and were prescribed Tamiflu. I was surprised that even with insurance, it cost 46 bucks per prescription. Seems a bit high to me. I couldn't even get my kids to take it because the taste of it made my son throw up. I stopped taking mine about three days in because of how sick to my stomach it made me feel. If I get the flu again, I will just ride it out and not bother with the Tamiflu."

For Influenza "Was diagnosed with influenza and was prescribed Tamiflu. Cost me $140 out of pocket. Took 2 pills and felt worse than I did before taking them. Vomiting was horrible. Then had to pay to go back to the doctor because of all the vomiting. Gave me new prescriptions. Will just ride the flu out next time. Cost me more than just letting it take its course. Tamiflu definitely not worth the cost or vomiting. Contacted the drug company and no reimbursements are given."

For Influenza "After spending a co-pay of $65 on this medicine, I couldn't even keep 1 pill down! So disappointed because I felt awful from the flu, and I spent so much money on this medicine, yet it would instantly cause me to feel nauseous, eventually leading to vomiting."

For Influenza "Well, 7 weeks pregnant and diagnosed with tonsillitis and influenza. Tamiflu caused me to have continuous projectile vomiting for 3 hours after taking it. I had to discontinue treatment and ride the flu out. Body is handling the Amoxicillin fine, though, for the tonsillitis."

For Influenza "My 9-year-old son got sick with the flu (confirmed by swab) on a Thursday afternoon. Before bed, we gave him the Tamiflu. Overnight, he was very sick with a high fever, vomiting, and headache, but the next morning, after his second dose of Tamiflu, he was already starting to feel much better, fever a lot lower, and eating soup. The medicine is easier on the stomach if you eat something with it, otherwise, it can cause stomach/digestion distress. Like others who posted, I was skeptical about using it, especially for a child, but so far, it has worked well."

For Influenza "I was diagnosed with the flu. I was prescribed Tamiflu. The doses on the first day were okay. The first dose on the second day caused me to wish I never took it. It started with a headache, then diarrhea, then nausea, then vomiting, then bloody diarrhea. It started at 9:25 a.m. It's now 5:50 p.m., and no relief in sight! Whomever invented this 'drug' should be made to take it. I feel worse now than when I started having the flu!"

For Avian Influenza "Severe flu, tested positive for avian. On initial dose, I believe it gave some body ache relief. After that, the nausea was so bad I just forced myself to eat to have something in my tummy. By the third day, I was nauseated and vomiting, so I stopped entirely. For me, the cure was as bad as the flu issues themselves. For most others, it was fine. After reading Tamiflu will only shorten duration by a day, I don’t see why this is even prescribed-with or without the side effects-as I still continued to take OTC meds for horrid cough, fever, and severe headache."

For Influenza "I had a fever of 102 for 2 days with flu symptoms, so the doctor prescribed me Tamiflu, saying it would work wonders. I only took it for two days before he told me to stop. Every time I would take it, I would throw up. It didn't matter if I took it with food or not, the result was nausea and then vomiting. My doctor eventually said to just take Tylenol and stop the Tamiflu, which was much better and eventually broke the fever. The medicine cost me $50 with insurance, which is high to me. I would never use this again. Horrible medicine."

For Influenza "This medication is horrible. My entire family came down with influenza A, my wife took it first. Within a few hours of her first dose, she was vomiting. She took one more dose and quit taking it. I came down with the flu and took it next. At first, it seemed great - took my 104.4 fever down to 97.7. I ended up taking 4 doses. First, I had diarrhea about 30 mins after taking each dose. I began to become extremely dizzy, which was not really a symptom I had of the flu prior to taking it. Last night, I took a dose with a full meal. My dizziness became unbearable, and I ended up violently dry heaving 10-15 times in a span of ten minutes. It's been about 16 hours since my last dose, and I am still dizzy. I will never take this again, and I will tell everyone I know not to take it."

For Influenza "Tamiflu the first day seemed to just make me nauseated and have a headache. Second day, even with food, I was vomiting and had a severe headache. Decide for yourself, I think this medication is not worth the side effects."

For Influenza "Took this medication to help treat the flu. I took this with food because I have a sensitive stomach. Almost immediately after taking, I began having extreme nausea and diarrhea. I’ve been throwing up since I took this medication and noticed that this is one of the most common side effects. I personally would not recommend."

For Influenza "Went to the doctor with what I thought was a sinus infection - got diagnosed with the flu and prescribed both a Z-pack and Tamiflu. My stomach tends to be sensitive, so my doctor warned me to eat before taking my medications and even took the extra step of writing me a script for Zofran (anti-nausea). I went home and had a good lunch of chicken soup and toast. I took my meds and fell asleep for about three hours. Then I woke up feeling really, really nauseous and proceeded to vomit for the next six hours. However, somewhere in there, my fever broke, and I'm feeling slightly better - I am hesitant to continue this course of medication, so I will be calling my doctor to seek further advice on whether or not to continue this treatment."

For Influenza "I am stopping this medication now (my third day) and will never take it again. I am so nauseous and cannot stop vomiting. I am unable to even sip water! I have an awful pain in my upper abdomen, and I have not slept since beginning treatment. I would rather suffer through the flu than the side effects of this so-called medication, the flu is much less painful."

For Influenza "I got diagnosed with severe type A flu, with a fever of 103 and terrible chills, with nonstop nausea and vomiting. The first two doses were great, I lost the chills and my fever went down. However, after the 3rd dose, I started to have intense stomach cramps that were so bad I had to go to the ER. Additionally, I started to have random jerks with my arms and legs when I tried to sleep, I had intense chills, my eyes were dry and bloodshot, and an intense headache. The worst part of the Tamiflu experience is that I was also not able to take my zofran for my vomiting. It reversed the effect of the zofran, so instead of making my nausea go away, it made it many times worse. Anything except for water made my stomach ache to the point of going to the ER, as said earlier. This is the first review I have ever done for anything online, which is a shocker because I am 18. I am doing this to emphasize the total hideous side effects of this drug. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone."

For Influenza "I was prescribed Tamiflu for the obvious reason: to lessen the duration of my flu symptoms. WORST MISTAKE EVER. The nausea was the worst I have ever experienced. The vomiting was worse than just puking on the flu itself. The nausea and vomiting lasted about 4-5 hours after taking Tamiflu. I would never waste my money on this drug again."

For Influenza "After experiencing flu-like symptoms for two days, I went to the urgent care clinic. The doctor prescribed Tamiflu! After my first dose, I immediately experienced stomach cramps and diarrhea. That evening, I took my second dose, I experienced nausea and dizziness and broke out in a rash on my belly. The following morning, I was hesitant to take another dose, but the doctor had strict orders to finish the prescription. I was very disappointed when, after 30 minutes, I felt nauseated again, and this time, I vomited twice! That was it for me. It actually made me feel worse! I should have just let the flu run its course! However, I am a diabetic, and I did not want complications. I will never again use this poison nor recommend it."

For Influenza "FACT: Tamiflu will make you vomit if your stomach is empty. With having the flu, my appetite was none, just water and orange juice. I took the first dose with my empty stomach, and I vomited very badly. For the next 9 doses, I ate a decent meal just right before taking Tamiflu and had no problem. Tamiflu works pretty well after 48 hours."

For Influenza "I am now on day 5 of having the flu. I got sick on a Thursday and went to the doctor on a Friday. I got prescribed Tamiflu. This medicine did not work for me. Every time I took it, I threw up about an hour later. It never appeared to improve any of my flu symptoms, but to only add to them. I do not recommend this medicine! And for those that it worked for, I am incredibly jealous. Not only am I sick with the flu, but now I'm puking too."

For Influenza "Husband became suddenly violently ill on Friday. On Sunday, 4-year-old daughter started running a fever that went away. On Monday, 4-year-old's fever was back mid-afternoon, husband barely moving. 4-year-old had diarrhea as well. On Tuesday, 4-year-old tested positive for Type B, got liquid Tamiflu. Very sick Tuesday morning, took first dose that afternoon. Daughter vomited. Wednesday, daughter was obviously better, husband still horribly sick. Thursday, daughter is up and dancing. Still have diarrhea, but will take this over husband's version any day. Expensive though."

For Influenza "Tamiflu was amazingly effective the first time I got the flu this year. No side effects, and within three days, I felt a world of difference. However, after getting reinfected a few days ago, this time it has only made me feel so much worse. The nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting have been ridiculous. I already have chronic nausea, so it's only exacerbated the condition. I'm stopping taking them today because I'm tired of getting home extra late after work due to having to leave work AND get off my buses early to puke and poop every 45 minutes. Rite Aid's 'Maximum Strength Nighttime Severe Cold & Flu' is significantly more effective, and so far I've not experienced any side effects (nausea is still there, but I'm pretty sure it's my GI issues and not the medication itself). If Tamiflu works for you, then please don't take my experience as word of law, and take it, it just isn't worth it for me to take it."

For Influenza "My 1.5-year-old daughter got diagnosed with the flu and was given Tamiflu. She ended up being admitted to the hospital for severe vomiting and diarrhea, she was taken off of it. My husband and I were both given Tamiflu as well. On day 3 of taking it, we both became violently ill. I am still sick: vomiting, cramps, nausea, and diarrhea. These are not typical flu symptoms, and so I can only imagine it is from the drug. Upon further reading up on side effects on the Tamiflu website, this drug can cause liver damage and ulcers. I DO NOT recommend unless absolutely necessary."

For Influenza "Tamiflu is not worth feeling better by half a day (per scientific review)! Physician started me on Tamiflu (flu confirmed by lab). Took exactly as prescribed and fared relatively well the first day. The second day was mostly uneventful. The fifth dose resulted in mild nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. The sixth dose was horrible. Shortly after the sixth dose, I experienced acute abdominal pain, severe nausea/vomiting, and diarrhea. My abdomen hurt so badly I asked my husband to take me to the ER. The wait was painfully/unbearably long, so I decided to go home. I ate nothing but ice chips for 48 hours. Never made it past the sixth dose. Tamiflu is so overhyped and can have significant side effects."

For Influenza "I am 18 years old, and I have had influenza B before. I first started noticing symptoms on Saturday night, beginning with a mild cough. I woke up the next morning feeling awful, I couldn’t leave bed, I was running a 101.7-degree fever. The next day (yesterday), I felt twice as bad, I was running a 102.2-degree fever, so I went to urgent care. I was prescribed Mucinex and Tamiflu. Thirty minutes after taking the medicines, I vomited twice. I thought it was just the Mucinex, so when I woke up this morning, I only took the Tamiflu. I have been vomiting all day. Not sure if it’s just my body rejecting the medication, but I know I felt much better before taking this."
