Mavacamten for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy "Camzyos has changed my life. I've gone from having swollen legs all my life to now being able to see my ankles. I've gone from not being able to walk upstairs to being able to walk the stairs without losing my breath. It is a total game changer, and I thank God every day that I have come across this medication."

Mavacamten for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy "I am facing a problem with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. I had a septal myectomy surgery 5 years back, but my problem didn't improve after surgery. My removed muscle regrew, and it creates a problem like chest pain. Sometimes I feel like fainting and have blurred vision, and I don't want to get surgery again. I have planned to talk with my cardiologist about mavacamten drugs for my condition. I hope this drug will improve my symptoms, quality of life, and functioning of the heart."

For Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy "Mavacamten worked great on my HOCM symptoms. I took 5 mg for 3 months. It stopped the nightly heart pain and SOB. I was able to walk stairs and hills again and was looking forward to getting back into more activities. I was just about to start 10 mg to hopefully get more of a reduction in my symptoms. Unfortunately, I developed some type of migraine from the occipital nerves that was unending, so I stopped taking mavacamten. Two weeks after stopping the medication, the headaches stopped. But now my HOCM symptoms have returned. It was a trade-off, but I can't live with the head pain, nausea, and vomiting every few days. I hope it works for others. It seemed like a miracle drug at first."

Mavacamten for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy "Started taking 20 days ago, 5 mg. At start, gradient resting 48 mmHg, provoked 97 mmHg. After 20 days, resting 13 mmHg, provoked 31 mmHg (Valsalva). Makes me lightheaded and winded. Side effects appear to be slight frontal evening headaches, some palpitations. Still, sudden quick moves make me feel lightheaded. Before taking, could not climb two steps on a step stool without fatigue. Now, ladders are no problem and easy rides on my bicycle up to 6 miles. Will see how next visit goes."

Mavacamten for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy "Eight months on Camzyos at 5 mg. During the first 6 weeks, felt no improvement in symptoms. My ejection fraction was unchanged, but my pressure gradient went down. Between week 6 and 12, had a series of good, very good days, then more bad days, then good after week 12. Echos continued to show stable pressure gradient, so I remained on 5 mg until my last Echo, 11 days ago. My resting gradient was 44, and I was increased to 10 mg. I have been on 10 mg for almost two weeks. Feeling very tired-more so than when I was on 5 mg. So far, this drug has been a roller coaster ride for me. I know many people have done well on it. I am going to stick with it. My next Echo is in about 2 weeks. For some, this drug just takes longer and at higher doses. By the way, no side effects at 5 mg except some headaches. These first few days at the higher dose have presented greater tiredness. I am also taking a 10 mg beta blocker (Bystolic), 160 mg Valsartan, and 2.5 mg of Amlodipine. 100 mg of Zoloft."

Mavacamten for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy "I am the 'poster child' for Camzyos. I have been taking it for 17 months with no complications and the ability to be as active as possible with no limitations. Truly a wonder drug! I might not write such a glowing review if I had to pay the 'listed' price, which is quite pricey at $8,300 a month, give or take a few hundred dollars! Fortunately, with Medicare, a foundation grant, and my Rx insurance, I have yet to pay anything! Hopefully, that continues."

Mavacamten for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy "I have been on it for 13 months. It has worked very well, decreasing the large gradient all the way down. I am 73 years old and lived undiagnosed with HCM for years with fatigue, lightheadedness, and vague symptoms, but was functioning pretty well. My quality of life is down since on the amazing medication. I guess I'm one of those who don't tolerate it as well. Terrible, debilitating headaches that last 2-3 days, several times a month. My wonderful cardiologist asked me if I could hang in there, and since I'm retired, I'll try."

For Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy "I am taking Camzyos for over five months. This medication changed my life. I can walk, hike, ride a bike, climb up stairs, and do all my activities without getting dizzy or being out of breath. This medication started to work on day one. I have significant improvement and can function normally. I do not experience any side effects."

Mavacamten "I have been taking Camzyos for one month and my gradient has gone from 20 to 19 on the 5 mg. I am going to start the 2.5 mg on Saturday. I have had no problems with the medication so far. I have written down my BP and any symptoms that I have had over the last 30 days. I did have one high BP when I went to get an ECHO on 12/27/23, but I believe it was due to my White Coat Syndrome. The hospital completed an EKG and Echo on 12/27. I am fine on 12/28/23 with BP returning to normal at 134/79 with a pulse rate of 62 and 97% Oxygen."

Mavacamten for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy "I cannot believe the change in my life. I used to walk from pillar to post in order to catch my breath. Now I’m able to walk normally…no need for pause. I’m so grateful for the drug. No negatives. I can breathe normally."

For Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy "Next day after I took my first capsule of 5 mg Camzyos, I started to feel the difference of being able to have less chest pressure. Now on the 10th day on Camzyos, I can finally sleep on a bed on my left side for a few minutes before I get pain in my chest. I will continue this treatment that, as of now, is working very well with very light side effects (very light dizziness). Thank God for having this medicine covered by my insurance."

For Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy "I am 58 years old and have been taking this medication for the past year and a half at 7.5 dosage, and I am so very happy after discussing it with my cardiologist that I decided to start. It has really given me back the active lifestyle that I once had. I am able to walk stairs, ride my spin bike, lift weights, and even jog a little on the treadmill. I cannot say enough about this medication, but would say that after reading all of the other reviews, I am very fortunate and grateful that my insurance covers it other than a moderate co-pay."
