For Dry Skin "I used the moisturizing cream on my face because of my very dry skin. After using for 3 days, I developed a reaction with red bumps and itching. Use of the cream on my legs and arms did not cause a reaction. It is too strong for the face."

For Dry Skin "I started taking CeraVe, and I developed full face itching, burning, and peeling in spots. The skin around my eyes became red and swollen as well. I don't have sensitive skin and was surprised at this reaction. I stopped using the medication and applied pure aloe vera gel daily and cortisone cream for itching. It’s been a few days now, and the redness is nearly gone, but my skin is still peeling in spots."

For Dry Skin "I bought CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion because it said it was developed by dermatologists. I only used it once and noticed it was very difficult to spread on my face. Later that day, I noticed that my cheeks and chin felt very rough like sandpaper and had thousands of tiny bumps. I've never experienced anything like this. I immediately washed my face, but it has been a week, and my skin is still in the same condition. If dermatologists developed this, it must have been to get new patients."

For Dry Skin "After using CeraVe Eye Repair Cream for two nights, I woke up at 2 a.m. with extreme itching around my eyes. I woke up, and they appeared wrinkly and red, so I washed it off, took a Benadryl, and went to bed. Woke up even worse, like very red, swollen elephant skin. Used some Vanicream HD (hydrocortisone), and later in the day it's still very red and hot all around my eyes. I don't understand it because the ingredients seem fairly innocuous."

For Dry Skin "Dr. prescribed for dry skin. The burning sensation on first application is horrible. I stayed with it for 5 days, then red hive-like bumps began occurring by second day with terrible itching. It is the worst over-the-counter drug reaction I have ever had. I would not recommend."

For Dry Skin "I bought CeraVe SA for my cracked, rough, sandpaper heels. The transformation was miraculous in less than a week. I began using it on my sun-weathered chest and forearms with the same great results! Love it! My sun-damaged, parched skin has never felt or looked better!"

For Dry Skin "I hadn’t used CeraVe Facial Moisturizer before, however, I was traveling (left my preferred cream behind) and was recommended this by a family member! I do suffer from psoriasis (areas of the head, face, torso), however, I’m pretty good at managing it. I applied this cream on my face, head after a shower, and instantly, I had a HUGE flare-up. It was immediate, angry, my body temperature went high, my eyes dilated, and the redness was all over my face, head where I had patches of psoriasis. After 5 to 10 minutes, things settled down, however, it was a scary experience! In 20 years of having psoriasis, I had never experienced such an instant, intense reaction to anything! Thought I’d share my experience."

For Dry Skin "I used CeraVe Body from the pump bottle for over a year with great results. My wife bought me a jar of the thick cream, and I started using it too. Within a week, I started having itchy red breakouts in patches all over, near my underarms, on my chest and shoulder, waistline, left hip, neck, left buttocks, and lower abdomen. I quit using the jar immediately when I suspected it was the jarred cream causing the reaction. After a week of itchy agony, I also stopped using the bottle too and called my doctor, who prescribed Benadryl and Triamcinolone 0.5%. Now, it’s been over a month, and the reaction finally seems to be subsiding. Patches of red blotchy skin remain in the areas affected. Some of the areas around my waistline remain purple/red, leaving my skin feeling like leather. I would be too fearful to ever use this product again."

For Dry Skin "Wish I had found this page before I bought and used CeraVe moisturizer (ha!) cleanser. Three days in, my entire face is bright red, peeling around eyebrows especially. Three weeks of burning, itching skin. Finally, skin is calming down, from now on, water and no chemicals ever again. Rating 00000000000."

For Dry Skin "I bought CeraVe when my face became extremely dry and was peeling. My pediatrician said it was a really good moisturizer. I bought the AM with sunscreen since I have been in the sun more and PM, both for normal to dry skin when what I really need is extra dry skin. The PM burned so bad I couldn't use it. The AM only burned slightly but really didn't seem to do enough, I still use it as a daily sunscreen, but I layer it over a skin vitamin serum and under lanolin for extremely dry skin. I won't ever buy CeraVe again."

For Dry Skin "Within seconds after applying this cream to my face, it became totally inflamed and red, with a burning sensation. After about a minute, thinking it would go away-which it didn't-I splashed cold water over my entire face for about 2-3 minutes. This relieved the burning a bit, but my skin is burnt! This should not be on the market or advertised as a skin cream! I will be calling my doctor when the office opens at 8:00 a.m."

For Dry Skin "I had a reaction to red wine! CeraVe helped for two days. After that, my face turned blood red, hot, and became dry and flaky! I don’t know what to do to heal it! I used it for 1 week. My face is horrible now!"

For Dry Skin "Tried it after reading good reviews, although I don’t quite know who’s writing the reviews, and immediately felt like I had severe sunburn on my face. When I woke up the next day, my face was red and swollen. I did a comparison on my arms with another product and CeraVe, the arm with the CeraVe felt like it was sunburned and itched like crazy and is also covered in small blisters. Don’t waste your money, I’m very disappointed."

For Dry Skin "Started using CeraVe on my dry legs, feet, and elbows, and by the second day I had small red, itchy bumps all over my skin. So glad I did not use it on my face. I have never had an allergic reaction to a lotion or cream. My legs look and feel sunburned. This should have a warning label. I took Benadryl to stop the itching."

For Dry Skin "I started using the CeraVe SA cleanser. After so many rave reviews online and acne-prone skin, I was really excited. After about two weeks, I woke with severely swollen and dry cracked eyelids. I looked like Quasimodo! I wasn’t 100% sure it was the face wash that gave me a reaction, so I stopped everything on my face. Sure enough, about a month later, I tried again, but this time eczema flared up all over my eyes and neck. I have never had eczema or sensitive skin before. I don’t recommend! I’m going to go back to my oil-free Neutrogena face wash. Hope this helps."

For Dry Skin "I ran out of face wash and opted for a more affordable option and swapped to the hydrating cleanser. It blocked my pores and made me break out. I thought my skin was purging, so I gave it a few more weeks. Five months after, my skin showed no improvements, and the bumps on my forehead made themselves at home. I ditched this and went back to my previous face wash. Within two weeks, my skin already looked clearer."

"CeraVe SA cream has changed my life! It truly reduces the plaques from my psoriasis and prevents new ones from forming. My dermatologist had me start using it years ago, and it's made such a difference in my life. It softens the plaques and makes them very easy to remove. They just come right off within a few days. I use it daily, even between flares, as it keeps my skin moisturized and healthy. It drastically slowed how often I am having psoriasis even breakout. I mainly get the plaques on my feet, and just walking was very painful. But CeraVe SA has changed that! I have recommended it to others for different skin issues, and they have gotten a ton of relief as well. The CeraVe SA Rough and Bumpy skin is something I will NEVER let run out in my house. It's not cheap, but the containers last a very long time. I tried Eucerin and didn't get the relief I needed from the itching and pain, and it didn't help prevent more flares. I switched to CeraVe and immediately noticed a difference."

For Dry Skin "I started using CeraVe 3 days ago, and my dermatologist recommended it for my acne. My face felt like it was burning all night after my third day, and the dry skin peels off. I’m so disappointed, especially since the stuff isn’t necessarily cheap, and they have no warning!"

For Dry Skin "I have very dry, itchy skin and bought the CeraVe AM moisturizing lotion with SPF because it was branded as 'developed by dermatologists' and fragrance-free. The first two times I used it, my face felt extremely hot and irritated. On the third day, I woke up (despite having cleansed and used my normal night moisturizer) with red, scaly skin, almost like a scald plus eczema. I stopped using it but tried again a week later and woke up the next day with the same problem, so I'm sure the moisturizer is the cause. It really doesn't feel at all suitable for sensitive skin."

For Dry Skin "I used the hypotonic serum, and the next day my skin was itchy, red, and bumpy, and my face was swollen. I put on calamine lotion, and my face felt cool instead of warm. My skin is better today."

For Dry Skin "I saw a dermatologist twice this spring for swelling and hives that I thought might be due to sun sensitivity. I changed up my routine to avoid the sun completely and stopped using anything at all on my face. All was well until I tried adding CeraVe back in three days ago. I used the Hydrating Facial Cleanser on my face in the shower, rinsed well, and then applied the Daytime Facial Moisturizer. That was in the morning, and by bedtime, my face was ablaze with the same itchy hives and burning that I had misattributed to the sun before. I washed my face with water, applied cortisone cream, and took two Benadryl. Even still, when I awoke the following morning, my eyes were nearly swollen shut and my cheeks were thick with edema. I repeated the shower-cortisone-Benadryl, and it's getting better, but it will take several more days for all of the swelling and redness to abate. I wouldn't give this stuff to my worst enemy, so these bottles are going into the box for household hazardous waste."
