Carbidopa / levodopa for Parkinson's Disease "The drug works well, however, it cannot be relied upon totally. I take 5 tablets a day: morning, noon, late afternoon, evening, and night. I find absorption depends on how full my stomach is. It can take as little as 1/2 an hour or as much as 2 hours to 'kick' in. The effects last for around 3 hours for the most part, but this also varies. I wish there was another method of taking this medication that did not involve the digestive tract."
